I found my next sport...

Ski Cross....  I can relate!  These guys are 6'4", 220-230 lbs, and some of them are almost as old as me or even older!  I still have a chance...

The only thing I'm missing?  The balls to do it.....

Mrs. Kido took those away?  You know what, it would work to your advantage if a ski pole came flying up that way - wouldn't hurt as much.

Anyone think the russian ice dancing team is a little out of touch?  What the hell was that native/caveman/whatever type of outfit and performance...  I was busy fast forwarding through the figure skating as I always do, but had to stop at that.

The thought of dislocated hips at my age does not sound fun...  The days of big air are behind me.

That's the 2nd time they performed that routine - it was supposedly based off an aboriginal dance.  They actually "toned down" the outfit some.  They still received a warm ovation.

If the U.S. men do not win the Gold Medal in the Nordic Combined event today I will be stunned. This will be the first gold in a nordic event.

I know Cry. I figured this one was in the bag after the jumping. So yes I am stunned. Another silver in a nordic event at the Olympics. That makes 3 now with 2 at this one.

Due to a coaching mistake. The coach told him he was to move to the inside lane when the skater was correct in being in the outer lane. Happened on the 17th of 25 laps and he would have won by about 4 seconds. That event is so big in the Netherlands I would think the coach would consider going into hiding.

I know.  I was watching it (DVR) while on the trainer.  I actually forgot to pedal and stopped and gasped at the TV.  My wife thought something terrible happened.

It took me a second to wonder why he was throwing his glasses and pushing his coach away - The announcers were confused to - "that's not the face of a man who won a gold medal".

NOW I wonder when I think back when they showed the Korean so happy while his time was getting beat for the gold...  The announcers thought he was just happy that he was getting a silver - but now, I think they realized that a mistake had been made, and he knew he was getting a gold due to a DQ.

NOW, I wonder if he took and extra lap on the OUTSIDE to essentially make it even - what would the ruling be?  I'm 99.9% sure they would still DQ him, but technically, he skated exactly the same distance.

Yeah I know what you mean but that would put 2 skaters in the same lane at the same time. You know they could have skaters skate 12.5 laps in one lane then switch and do 12.5 more in the other lane to the finish.

I know, but in this case, they were so staggered, that it woudn't have made a difference.

I'm just hypothisizing that if he realized the mistake, and took and extra half lap on the outside a couple laps later to make it "square"...  It would make it even more interesting, that's for sure...  I have also seen them make some other questionable decisions at other times in the games so far to "skirt" the rules...

Hiller has been crazy good this entire Olympics.  It is going to be damn hard for anyone to beat the US if he continues to play like this.

Can't wait for the Canada vs Russia game in 2 hours.

On the first run earlier today, Lindsey Vonn wiped out. Because of timing issues, Julia Mancuso was mistakenly sent out on the course (slated for the run immediately following Vonn) and had skied more than half of it before being yellow-flagged to stop. So she had to ski to the bottom, go back up, and ski the whole damn thing again when the course had gotten even crappier, of course. She's in 18th position now with virtually no hope of getting on the podium. So the 1-2 favorites are out.

Second run is going on right now.

My must watch event has just ended. It was the Ladies 5000m speed skating event. My favourite skater has won medals at both the Winter Olympics (speed skating) and the summer Olympics (cycling), so I was hoping for her 6th medal. She had a great performance.

Hughes is amazing.  It is incredible talent to be able to win medals in cycling and long speed skating.
