How does a CT lobser end up buying a ticket to run the Cooper bridge?  I mean, that's cool and all, just curious on the backstory.  It is a fun event, but it's not a huge event?  Sucks, I'll miss it this year <sad face>

I beg your pardon! Not only is the CRBR fun, it is huge. Last year 38,000 participated in the run. The faster runners are seeded to leave in the front flights. It is wall to wall people for 6.2 miles.
Posting a good run time might be difficult but I doubt this is the objective for a majority of the runners. I don't know of many runs that compare to this event.
To the gal from CT, you will most definitely love the warm weather, the azaelas will be in full bloom, the scenery of Charleston and best of all....... the seafood!!!!!

Good Morning Folks,So has anyone used their Garmin to map the true incline of this race? I don't have much more time to train and I need to work on hills. Can someone update me?Thanks

@ CU Chanko: my mama and little bro live in Beaufort, so we're having a family reunion of sorts.  Love visiting down there - can't wait!

Bridge is 4% incline and a good mile plus in length.  First miles are SLOW because all of the masses.  Thins out as you head up the bridge.  The downhill is equally long (maybe longer) and off the bridge you get great crowd support all the way in.

It is truely the most fun race around (at least in the Southeast)!

There are donuts at the end of the bridge! ;-)

Glad I didn't see them last year, I was soooo hungry....

Great event.  It was my first Bridge Run.  A couple of us went up 17 after the race and bike a majority of HIM bike course.  Most of the roads are great.  One stretch is pretty rough but its only a few miles long.
