Age Group Rank = 69/121
Pre-race routine:

Woke up around 5 AM, ate a banana and some bread. Drank 1/2 calorie gatorade. Proceeded to get turned around on the way to the race with the future Mrs OD. Thank goodness for GPS. Got there with plenty of time to spare. Checked in and went back to the car to stay warm.
Event warmup:

Stood around inside the heated tent looking for folks we knew. Stretched and jogged outside. Hit the port-a-j's. Saw some friends and tooks some pics. Race was delayed 15 minutes.

Comments:

Ran well, it didn't seem like 14k. I run a bit faster than the future Mrs OD so we alternated her pace for one mile, then my pace. I think it caught up to her around mile 7 but it was a good training run for her. She can run for much longer distances than me, but not at my pace. We passed some folks from work and never saw them again. Met up with a colleague around mile 5, which was weird. The cupcakes at mile 6... the icing was good but the cake was not a good idea during the race.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. I felt good and we had a good time.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked over to where our 'fans' were waiting and cheered on our friends as they finished. Ate a banana, 1/2 a bagel and drank water. Made our way over to the tent and ate 2 Moe's burritos. We slipped the beer truck some cash and they let us drink our fill. We were the last to leave. Me and the future Mrs OD won a gift certificate in a contest!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Staying with the future Mrs OD, but that was the point of this race.

Event comments:

The only thing I could take away from this race was the 15 minute delay and the super narrow 1/4 mile path. Too many runners and not enough space. Other than that... fun race, lots o' Yeungling and Moe's.

Age Group: 69/121
Overall: 952/2600
Performance: Good
Course: Almost completely flat (99.9% flat) out and back on asphalt, concrete, muddy ground and gravel. There was one stretch where all the runners were crammed onto a bike path about 10 feet wide. This was border-line ridiculous. I think they should have opened the other bike path also and allowed you to choose left or right.
