Hello everyone. With less than 5 weeks to go  I have added a the route of the full tobacco road marathon to the route list here on BT. It is pretty close to the route as I had to rough figure the turn-arounds.

Hey Doug.  I ran 6 on the trail today starting at White Oak Rd going south.  Plan was 14 but got cut short due to stomach cramps, hell, I thought only women had stomach cramps!  But it's not fun!  Other than that I felt great and was on a 9 m / mile but had to stop and walk bcause my stomach cramped so bad!  Plan is to go right back tomorrow at lunch and do my 14 then!

Good job Harold. I have two shorter runs this week and 20+ miles on Sunday. I might try to run part of the route sunday. Hmmm....

call me a woman...

i wonder how much salt blocks help cramps. I took margarita gel blocks with salt in them before and they were fabulous...

Excited about this race!  I had to downgrade to the Half due to my knee/ITBS which put me out of commission for most of January, figured I would rather have a great half run then a potentially crappy full.  May run part of the course this weekend.

I'd like to do a run between 10-4 to catch the warmer weather.  Sunday Morning is church time as well.

Also to note we have a few folks that are faster than others, or many faster that me, so.....my plan is to run but not hold anyone back from their pace time.

I can do 9 / m/ pace but I am training on 10 to 10"15 pace mile to stay in HR Zone on a 4-10 mile run.

I'm pretty flexible.  Saturday probably would work better so it doesn't conflict with church on Sunday.

Course map of the half: here

I would like to start here. Let me know if anything pops off for Saturday.

Oooo this could be fun!

So I am pretty open Saturday I propose either 10am or 1pm, not sure which people would prefer, either is fine with me.

I like Alan's meeting spot so I'm going to propose that as our start point.

As far as pace, yeah this isn't going to be a fast run for me, looking at 9-10 minute miles, I need to get at least  10 miles in this weekend.

So let me know which time you all would prefer.

I'm running early a.m., but I might bring the kiddos out to the trail on the bikes to join in the fun.  Marshall's been wanting to "ride in my trailer from Wimberley" (his words) for a few weeks now.  Web needs to stretch his legs on his 2-wheeler.

Ooh- I just realized that the starting point is not all that far from where I work!  This might come in handy down the road when I need to run before/after work when the days get longer.  At least now I don't have to worry about getting lost trying to find it this weekend!

Either 10am or 1pm works for me on Saturday.

Just an FYI: that starting point is right at 2 miles from the ATT. So, factor that in to your run distance.  Please be careful on that stretch of road...it's hairy enough to ride out that way, motorists aren't very good about sharing the road.

If y'all do the 10 am thing, I'll try to meet you somewhere about mile 5.5 or 6 with my bike.  Will have already run, but in for some socializing!

Ok I am not a huge fan of running on roads that aren't runner friendly, so how about we start around the 3 mile mark of the course, which happens to be when the half marathon actually turns onto the ATT off of Green Level Rd West: http://tinyurl.com/y8plmy7/>
I am not sure about the parking situation at this location though, anyone know?

How about we go with the 10am time?

Ok another revision.

Here is where Scottie and I are gonna be around 10am tomorrow:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=&daddr=35.786209,-78.923099&hl=en&geocode=&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=16&sll=35.78553,-78.921361&sspn=0.008425,0.012274&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16

For those that did the ATT 10 miler this is the same starting point.  There is plenty of parking as well as rest rooms for those that prefer not to use nature's toilet.

If you want to meet up with us I can give you my cell number, just PM me.
