I did the pump and run 5 times - each year my strength portion improved.  last year i maxed it so i wasn't sure if i would do the pump and run again - it was decided for me when registration closed out in a little over 24 hours.

there is a separate 5k without the lifting portion.

it is usually good weather for a fast 5k and the change in elevation is not terrible so it is a good chance for me to PR.  i need an 18:02 to hit my master's PR (my lifetime PR is WELL out of reach).

it is a fun day - even if you are not competing you should come out and see what's going on.

this month's Muscle & Body magazine has a pic of me from the 2008 race.

 anyone else competing or coming?

both 5ks start at the intersection at the north west corner of the convention center.  the finish is by the north doors.

What time is the run?  I've been going to the Expo and the UFC the last 3 years but never seen any running events.  Perhaps they are before I get there or happen while I am inside.

Anyone here going to be watching or running?  My family and friends usually come to watch but this year I am solo.

Plan - try to get to bed on time.  Run steady with no lead out sprint because the groins and hamstrings are still sore.   I want to get my master's PR (18:03) or better - going 17:59 would make me giddy.  I would be satisfied with a course PR (18:16)

That is the race that initially got me going into Triathlons 4 years ago.

The Pump & Run...that is.
