Pre-race routine:

Alarm went off, I felt like I was in hell. Too damn early. Got up, got dressed, ate a doughnut (mmm), drove to event and got my goodie bag.

Event warmup:

Did a few leg stretches and jogged in place.

Run

Comments:

My HR shot up early...maybe because I'm not used to running in the morning? I just kept running and enjoyed myself.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing - unless there are races that start later in the day. I had to come home and take a nap.

Post race

Warm down:

Was handed a bottle of water - drank it. Waited for husband to come through finish line.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of experience/conditioning. Age. Weight. Sleepiness.

Event comments:

I don't feel right rating the race because it's my first, but I had a good time so I'll give it an "above average."

Course:	The entire course was uphill, except for the final .25 mile. Is this possible? Sheesh.
