Okay wish me luck.  I am going to attempt to sign up for IM Arizona on Monday for my second IM! Man I hope I get in!

Good luck! I signed up for IMFL a couple weeks ago before I knew what I was getting into so I have that as my excuse

Hey I sent my daughter your blog link and she loved it.  She left a message on there for you.  I will let you know if I get in.

I waited to late for IM FL and would have like to do that event.  IM AZ looks pretty cool as well.

here is my race report....

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=234073

i think i did this right....not sure......

glad to see everyone there.  hope everyone enjoyed the race as much as i did.  i thught it was well run and i had only minor issues.  considering that we were doing an ironman distance - 12 hours or more, you have to expect some complications and some issues along the way.  it is troubling to me that some folks on this site seem to expect someone there to hold their hand when something went wrong and wipe away their sweat.  it is a freaking ironman race for goodness sakes.

still sore here.  my BT training plan ended w/the race.  i'm clueless now what to do post race - how to resume normal activity.  I'd think I need to slowly work back up to some routine volume, say over 2-3 weeks.  I did a 30 min bike spin (ez, but no discomfort) on Wed, and 30 min run today (quads & calves sore).   So anyone w/experience post full distance?

Last year, two weeks after my first IM, I ran a stand-alone mary. I PR'd the half portion (1:30) but my body fell apart shortly thereafter. You'd think I learned my lesson, but next Saturday, I'm running a half mary & intend to do it in 1:30. I think it's different for everyone. The key, from what the pro's have passed on to me, is to listen to your body. I can't sit still for long, so I'm already out logging running miles. (Too cold to bike & I despise the bike trainer.)

wow, that's stout.  best of luck to you.  I feel a lot better today after yesterday's run. think I'll keep it slow and steady.  i feel like if I raced i'd hurt something for sure.  good luck in your race.

Most people take atleast a month to fully recover and resume normal workouts. Go on the cautious side since this is your first.

Signed up for IM Florida 2011 with a foundation slot.  My second IM and big shoes to follow vs my B2B race.

good you got in.  I was eyeballing IM TX and knew there were slots open.  I was wanting to finish B2B first and make sure I was still cool with the 140.6 distance.  After a 12:04 finish with inadequate training, I figured IM TX was a great idea.  Went over the weekend to buy my IM Foundation slot, but found they were all GONE!  Rats, gonna have to find a plan B.

Hey all!
After the relay (swim/bike), while I finished I was definitely not fully prepared but enjoyed it.  Decided 2011 would be the year for a full so it looks like I am signing up for the Redman full.  Only 10 hrs from the house and three hours from my sister-in-laws place.  Not an IM race but its looking like the perfect race for me.  NOLA 70.3 as a warm up.

Congrats again to all that finished.

Well, maybe not the same as you, since somehow you managed to get registered for B2B full days before registration opened!

"special" is one of the nicer things I've been called lately. Oops, so maybe it wasn't you--but there was another lady from NC on the participant list before reg opened.
