Garceau - 2010-05-04 8:21 AM What a rocking run this morning.

Feels great when you have days like this. All come together and seems everything is for a reason.

25 mins straight!

Congrats!  I had a great run this morning too, must be something in the air.

Great light weight workout this morning.

Nice to relax and lift some weights from time to time. I need to continue this trend more often. Even if I go fairly light.

6 pound weight loss this week, thats a bonus.

Wow great run.

Starting to feel very good and confident for a 2 mile run. I even picked up the pace considerably today. I think its just about time to push it up a notch.

I have found I like setting a distance goal, rather than time goal.

Wow did things kinda fall apart the past week.

I hadnt had the chance to run since last thursday and boy did I feel it today. Lungs were just burning. I hadnt done anything since then.

Weight loss has been good, just fitness sucked.

Easy 1.25 mile run. I normally dont run back to back but woke up this morning and felt I had to.

I protected my legs and ran a shorter distance at a faster pace. Felt good.

Nice 2 mile run outside in 75 degree weather. Felt great to get a good run in. I worked on some things mentally and pushed through a few moments of doubt.

Can tell I have been slacking on the run, but sure felt good to get a good sweat on.

1 mile run outside today.

Slacked all weekend, ate pretty bad for me. Alot of carbs in some NA Beer, and two different sandwiches I actually ate the buns on.

Gonna have to push it all week to meet my wednesday goal. I got the month goal made but I adjusted it. I dont think I will make the new goal.

Well I havent ran lately, and didnt have alot of time. So I thought I would pick up the pace a bit. At least for me.

Well today ran a mile, but added a bunch of elevation. I finished with a HR of 189.
I am really disappointed lately. I figured after 3 months of running I would be just cruising along at 3-4 miles and actually enjoying the run. But just the opposite. I am dreading it every morning, and fighting to finish the minimal miles I am finishing.
I get emails from my brother telling me how great his 13 mile run was, how he is on pace for a 3:30 marathon, and how training in the desert over seas in 120 degree heat is really going to help his times ------uggh

Sorry to hear that you're frustrated.   Sounds like you're putting too much pressure on yourself.   Just remember that you do this for you - don't worry about what anyone else does! You're on your own journey.  In the beginning, at least for me, it was about finding a happy pace and not worrying about whether or not that was 'fast'.  That's when I really learned to enjoy a run.  It does take time and sometimes a lot of time to build up. Maybe for now it would help to just pick routes you like with nice scenery or interesting landmarks - half of my enjoyment of running is in getting outdoors ... or then there's the race goal - have you signed up for a 5k?

You can find the love again! :D  Best of luck!

Keep at it buddy.

Six months ago I was at the run 2 min walk 4 min stage and it was killing me. I was exhausted at the end of 30 mins. I felt as if I would never be able to run 15 mins straight and was actually dreading it. Week on week, run 3 walk 3, run 4 walk 2 thinking, Jeez, Im going to have to put in a fairly long run soon. maybe 10 mins or more.

Six months later and I last week ran 58 mins straight and at the end felt as if I could have ran another 58.

It will come mate. Keep to the 10% rule and you will find soon enough that the most frustrating thing is wanting to go more but the program says NO.

Good luck with it, and I will be keeping my eye on you, both here and FB, so no slacking lol.

Set multiple records this morning!

Fastest 5k time! - by 4 minutes
Furthest run without walking! - by more than doubling it
Ran over an hour straight without walking!

Not really sure what to do with myself right now. I actually think I could have went further, I dont feel too bad, legs a little rubbery.

Now remember I am pretty slow so these are my own personal records..... nothing more, definatly nothing less!

4.3 miles in 1:00:02

Thanks....

Today was first run since my longest run on sunday.  Sure felt it, took it easy and went a mile. Not sure how I will feel in a little while. I had slight pain throughout most of the run in one shin area. So I decided to back it off to a mile.

Legs feel OK now, maybe they needed the excercise to shake out any nagging pains.

Wow....another great run. I mean absolutely great. Until last sunday my longest continual run was 2 miles. Then I decided to run 4.3 miles without stopping, which felt like an awesome accomplishment. I then ran 1 mile, and 2.5 mile two times this week. So this morning I go out on the same 4.3 mile course and beat last sundays time by OVER SIX MINUTES.......I am actually besides myself with this accomplishment right now. Sorry to come off as bragging - but Im pretty pumped.

Ho-hum kinda run today. Slept bad, bad thoughts on my mind couldnt keep them out during the run. So slipped off the pace slightly. Oh well......better than staying in bed.

Maybe my run the other day was a sign to come. I got really sick that afternoon and was laid up in bed the next 2 days.

This morning still not 100% but was able to get a very slow 2 miles in. My joints still ached and all but my lungs and throat felt pretty clear. Maybe the run helped.

Not alot of strength and really didnt run well. But I still burned calories either way. Better than being on the couch. Will be interesting to see how I feel later today.

Still trying to completely recover from this cold. It is just lingering barely now. I missed logging a few runs on here.

I also missed logging my first official 5k. It wasnt pretty. I was really sick and should have stayed home but I did it.

I then went and recorded my fastest 2 mile run, and now have recorded my fastest 2.5 mile run this morning. Hopefully I can carry this pace a little further for the 5k this weekend. I would be very happy if that was the case.

Real good run, no walking. Solid pace. Mind stayed focused for majority of run. Finished strong. For not wanting to run at all this morning, I feel very good of 2.5 miles in 28:44
