Attention:

You have three months to train for this race.

To put this in perspective, assuming you faithfully execute 3 workouts per week in each sport, you have 39 workouts in each between now and race day.

Also,  if your bike needs a tune up I recommend getting it to the LBS now, while the turnover is measured in days rather than weeks.

That is all.

I'm sure it'll hit ya when you jump in the 50ish degree water. They definitely lied last year saying it was in the 60's.

You had to bring up the cold water!

A couple more days in the upper 30's and sunshine the ice will be out of Canandaigua Lake and we can do some OWS!

After swimming in the pool all winter it probably just feels cold!  I heard that the state was repairing that stretch of road but I don't remember who told me so don't rely on that.  My first time at Keuka so I really can't speak for either issue!

Rich as Score-This! told me last summer that the roads were scheduled to be repaired this spring and that they should be done by race day.   I hope so, I've had a couple of very close calls on this course due to the road conditions.

I did it last year...what did they announce the water as....62? I remember the announcer saying in a straight voice it was in the 50's and everybody cringing...then he said "kidding" and said it was sixty something....wasn't too bad once we all got moving.

Let's pray they fix that road I know of people who won't come to that event specifically because of the condition of that state hwy....I almost lost my aerodrink...and my fillings.

At least ten of us coming up from Binghamton area....hope to see all of you there!

It'll be my first year doing the Olympic distance. From what I've heard, the worst is on that portion of the course. The water definitely felt better after just sitting and swimming around in it for about 10 minutes.

I like this venue a lot and it is a VERY well managed race. This will probably be the first race of the season where I will have some of my team and we will have a tent for our products and services.

Oly course is DEFINITELY better after the turn off....the 5 miles of hill suck, but the road is good!  CANT WAIT!

The year I did the race, Mother Nature turned on the heat like whoa!  Wasn't prepped for that!!  It was such a tease running next to the lake because I kept getting thirsty and had cars drive by-that exhaust only upped the temp. Eek!

That was a very tough day. They were actually trying to stop people from just jumping in the lake after you finished so your body didn't go into shock.

Did it last year- the water was cold (worst I've been in)  but didn't really make a difference in my race.  But those first few minutes on the bike (wet and cold) were hard!  The race was fine, but it's a bit off the beaten track in my opinion (long drive just to hit the highway).

Registered for the intermediate. Had to plunk down some cash to jump start spring training. Been slouching toward Fatville for a few months too many.

I'm in!  This will be my first time doing Keuka.  Maybe this warm weather we've been having will start warming up the lake (or is that wishful thinking?).

Just did the bike course for the intermediate race yesterday-what a blast!  Good for billy goats on the long, steady uphill, and lots of fun for all on the decent.

they were just taking a cement saw to the roads yesterday...looks like they're on schedule to put those stimulus dollars to work and make the roads nice and smooth by race daySmile

I'll have to look into that mtn bike race. Never heard of it before!  My husband is doing Keuka this year and I'll be handing out water and smiles with other volunteers with our triathlon club from Binghamton. =) <-Had to start practicing.
