Great...the short run course makes my run time even more pathetic. Oh well, you've got to start somewhere. Had a great time though. Times were up on the chip timers website in case anyone wants to know.

Hey Todd, that was great meeting you. Hope it was as fun for you as it was me. Met alot of great people yesterday! Most fun I've had at a tri yet! Posted my race report if anyone cares to read it. Was just stoked I finished under 3hrs. That was my goal for the day besides having fun and finishing! Glad that run course was on dirt for a large portion. Great venue.

Did anyone else who did the Olympic distance have a different time on their watch compared to the timing chip results?  My chip results are almost 3 minutes faster that what I had on my watch.  I took my swim, T1, bike, T2, and run splits on my watch.

Congratulations on your first tri; an Oly at that too.

Don't know if anyone else heard but there were some cars broken into in the North parking lot during the race. I guess there were some purses and stuff stolen just after 7am. Just a heads up so that you can take precautions with your stuff.

WOW, that sucks.  I did not hear anything about it.  I was parked right next to the pool and skate park.  Glad my truck has an alarm.

Congrats to all who raced this weekend! I was volunteering, first at the bike mount during the kids race, then the run during adults race.

I saw the youngest girl age 6 to the oldest gentleman age 81 having a blast out there. I was at the aid station where the runners had to cross the street while running along the canal. Man, I got some of the dirtiest looks from some of these drivers while directing traffic.

Thank you for helping out! I know, when I crossed on my 2nd loop some lady was yelling about being late for church. I told her to leave on time next time. Geez, people run late then want everyone to carry their burdens! That was pretty funny! Thank you and all the volunteers, you guys are well appreciated.

I showed the bike at 23.85 and the run at 5.64 but I started the run lap a tad bit late.  Great race even with a slightly short run.  I also showed the times posted on the wall 2 min faster than my Garmin.  Everyone who was looking at the results on Sun made a comment about it.  I haven't decided if I will claim their 2:19:55 or my 2:22:04.....Either way it's a PR by quite a bit, even if I add time for the extra   .36 on the run.     Anyone know when the results will be posted online?

Yes Joe, and all other volunteers, thanks for helping out with the race.  I had to laugh as I came back from the turn around after crossing the street and you said I only had about a mile left to go untill the finish.  I said thanks, but I am only on my first lap.

I know when I talked to Mark on Saturday he said the Olympic distance swimmers would start 5 minutes after the last sprint swimmer started.  Looking at the pool, it only looked like 100 to 150 meters separated the 2 groups.  It seems to me like they started us about 3 minutes or so after the sprint racers.  If they had 5 minutes programmed into the computer and actually started us at 3 minutes, that would be our 2 minute difference in times.

I'll bet you're right.  The good part is nearly everyone I spoke with said the results were about 2 min off.  At least it didn't affect finishing order.  Still a fun day, glad I made the trip from Tx.

I still can't believe you drove all that way for this race.  How long did the drive take?  It was a 3.5 hour drive for the wife and I and I think that is long, especially after the race is done.  We both did our 1st Olympic distance at this race.  She got to sleep on the way home and I got to drive.

Technically didn't drive just for the race.  My family (parents 1 sister, etc) lives in Phx and it is spring break for the kids in Tx so we came out for a family visit.  I have a 10 mi trail run/race back home that was a conflict for the trip, so I asked my wife if I could do this tri as a replacement race.  My other sister (professional photographer) came down from WA and shot me for fun, and my wife and 5 kids came out to cheer me on so it became a big family event.  The worst part was 15.5 hrs sitting in the car the day prior.  I took the advice of a more experienced athlete and bought a pair of compression socks, WOW they worked miracles.  My legs were fresh, ready to go from the start of the race.
