Subject: FTP Testing on bike today...have question...

Hi BT'ers...I did a 30 minute FTP test on the bike today on a computrainer, and I am wondering about my results.

Anyone know what a decent avg. watt output is for a female? Is there a range? Speed? Again, is there a scale of sorts to figure out what my results fall within others???

Thanks for any input...much appreciated!

Power profiling is one way - you can read more here:

Definitely take a look at that chart.

Did you do a 30 minute test today (ie all out for 30 minutes)?  The first thing you need to do is translate that to an estimated FTP.  Then determine your watts/kilograms (w/kg).  That will give you a comparable number to use when looking at the chart.

Comparing watts or speed is close to irrelevant.  I know plenty of people who put out 20% more watts than me but are plenty slower...weight, drag, etc can all factor into it.  W/kg is often you best source of comparing data.
