If you have a little cisars and get the $5 pizzas, 2 slices per person is 45 pizzas = $225 plus tax, even at 3 slices per person you are still under 350 allowing for other creative ideas.   And if you plan extra to sell them to the spectators you could come out nicely, 16 slices per pie, $1 per slice = + $11 per pizza order two more.

There’s a local race here that does a full breakfast spread: pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs, etc. It’s a sprint so it’s usually over around 9-10am, so breakfast is certainly appropriate. I’m surprised more races don’t do breakfast instead of lunch.

Except that would be illegal without collecting and submitting sales tax.
At least in my state. Sorry! Sealed

And even though it's technically out of season, we should add king cake for dessert.  I just hope I don't get the baby. That's a lot of cake to buy!

My local tri (Greenfield MA) has vegi burgers (which are donated from a sponsor- Lightlife foods) and a couple of the volunteers bake homemade, meat and meatless lasagnas, and include bread and salad w/ it.

The laz' always seems to be a hit since there very little left over.

Good luck

My favorite post race spread has always been guys working the giant BBQ's serving up hot gots and burgers....You get a ticket for a burger/dog and then go through the line to get a bag of chips some cookies and a coke.

Good times. Beer is usually for sale....

My favorite post race food has been:

  • Paella after a 5k (hands down winner)
  • Pulled pork sandwiches after a 50 mile mountain bike tour
  • Black beans & rice and Klondike bars for dessert after a 12k run
  • Pancakes and sausages (courtesy IHOP) after a few local 5k's

Maybe check into some local restaurants and see if they are interested in becoming a sponsor (ie, half price catering, etc.). All of the above listed items were provided to the races using that method.

if the weather is cool enough, hot broth with or without vegies is great.  Warm and salty.  Yumm.

why not state that you're selling the pizza per slice outside of the participants to collect money to donate anything above and beyond to a local charity..and actually donate it.

Or say that the tax is included in the price and do the reverse calculation to submit the tax portion to the state.

love the ice cream idea - local race has m&m's, skittles, peanuts, oreos, choc. chip cookies, fritos, doritoes, chips, bubble gum(?) along w/ the regular bagels w/ toppings, soda, iced tea and waters. Got the sweet and the salt covered. They were just missing the beers.

I like the BBQ idea but with sauce on the side with some fruit (berries are good).  I don't do grains or refined sugars so I would be bummed if the only option post race was pizza, bagels and chocolate milk.
