Total Time = 1h 23m 46s
Overall Rank = 104/464
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 11/29
Pre-race routine:

Got up early, checked gear to make sure I had everything, had a clif bar and an orange and a bottle of g2.

Thanks to posse I didn't have to drive out at 3 am so got a good nights sleep.
Event warmup:

swam out about half way to first buoy and felt pretty good.
Swim
  • 12m 10s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 14s / 100 yards
Comments:

I think I need to open water swim more and more. My navigation stinks, my open water sighting stinks, and my form goes to crap for the first half of the swim while I struggle with the above (or maybe causing me to struggle with the above?)
What would you do differently?:

everything
Transition 1
  • 03m 9s
Comments:

wetsuit always get stuck on calf and heals regardless of how much body glide I use. Need to work on this.
Bike
  • 45m 11s
  • 14 miles
  • 18.59 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike number came off due to poor use of twisty ties and I figured I wouldn't be able to get my bike out of transition if it didn't have a number so I had to go back, get it, tie it back on. Lost maybe a minute or two.

Cadence meter and bike comp stopped working at some point due to bumpy road conditions.
What would you do differently?:

secure bike number and avoid bumps
Transition 2
  • 01m 50s
Run
  • 21m 26s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

felt pretty good on the run, I possibly could've pushed more...will try harder next time.

Overall 104/464! You did great! OWS is definitely an art...but the more you practice, the easier it becomes. Excellent job. Congratulations.

Great job! You passed me out there, probably while you were chewing up the run with that 7 min pace of yours.

I am so jealous of the amazing times you keep putting up!  Nice job!  Even if your navagation was "off" during the swim you got a good time!  Congrats!

Bob, awesome run once again. I feel the same way about my sighting in the OWS. I feel like I am relying on the guy/gal next to me to be on the right line. It is something I need to practice as well.
