The North Atlanta Multisport Club Sunday Greenway Run will start to alternate between the Suwanee Greenway and the Forsyth Big Creek Greenway.  This week we'll be at the Big Creek Greenway and will start from the McFarland Parkway trailhead.  I've yet to run there but have heard nothing but good things and this seems to be a favorite place to run for many who have tried it.  Plenty of boardwalk to ease the impact of running.

Come and join us.  As always, all distances and paces are welcome, our group continues to grow so you are almost sure to have someone to run with.

We'll start at 8:30am

Just an FYI, everyone might want to keep an eye on the greenway between now and Sunday. Yesterday, the greenway was flooded (McFarland trailhead). Granted, it is suppose to stop raining before Sunday, so it should dry up by then, but a flooded greenway might move the run back to Suwanee this Sunday.

I drive past the greenway everyday, so I will update if it is still flooded.

I was thinking the same thing.  The Suwanee Greenway is also at the mercy of the river height (although we just incorporated some interesting detours last time).  Definitely something to keep an eye on.

As of 5:45 tonight, there was some water on the greenway just north of Hwy 9.  The Bethelview Rd trailhead is also closed.

I live by the Bethelview trailhead and will post an update Friday night/Saturday.

Looking forward to a flat run this week and hoping I don't have to run the rails of the boardwalk like we did once at Suwanee to try and stay dry.
The last time I made it about eight feet on the boardwalk rail before I fell and got my shoes soaked...  At least I fell into the boardwalk and not into the creek...

current forecast is for big creek to drop below flood stage by Saturday.

I'm a maybe. I'm running the Jog 4 a Cause 10K on Saturday and I don't usually run two days in a row. But if my foot/heel feels OK Sunday morning, I'm wanting to get another run in.

As of 8 this morning, the Bethelview trailhead parking lot is still closed.  The greenway was in decent shape from Bethelview to Hwy 9.  This was some mud across the trail in a few spots (especially under Majors Rd); slippery but not impassable.  There was also a fallen tree blocking half of the path just before Majors.

Fine for running, but I wouldn't take a road bike on the greenway.
