nuttysami123 - 2010-03-11 9:52 AM I'm vertically challenged (5'4.5") so I can't really comment about your gift of height!
Good luck with your journey!

From my view, you are very tall!  I am just 5'.  I bought my road bike (Trek 2100 wsd, 43cm) because it had the shortest top tube available and still needed to move the saddle all the way forward on an angled post and put in a shorter stem.  I just started riding a tri bike (Kestrel airfoil 47cm, pix in log and album).  I bought it because it is the *only* tri bike  that allows me to have a good drop from saddle to aerobars (short head tube, low stack).  The bars are mounted from the bottom of the pursuit bar and are so close to the front wheel that I can't use an aerodrink setup.  To compensate for the relatively long top tube, the seat angle is very steep (83).  It is light and goes very fast.

If you can find someone to do a pre-fit, I highly recommend it!

Yes but I can't see them because we are not 'friends'.  I haven't seen a Kestrel WDS bike.

I want to see the Kestrel too!  I am swapping to a Kestrel next year, but for now my height challenged self (5'3 1/2 - yep, I'm claiming the 1/2) is riding a beautiful Planet X

It is worth getting a measurement fitting.  Then you have some numbers to compare with geometries and sizes.  You can narrow down components that you want.  It sure helped me wade thru all the bikes that are out there!

Don't feel bad....I would make you seem tall!  4'10", 100lbs, 26" inseam.  I have been riding a custom Seven Ti Road bike for the last several years, but just took delivery of this GURU Magis, the smallest custom carbon bike GURU has ever built.  Other than Parlee this was the only manufacturer I could find that would take on the build.

moxie - 2010-03-11 7:51 PM This thread makes me feel like a midget.

I ride a what is basically a child's size Fuji starter road bike. It's a 49cm Newest 2.0. I bought it because I got a good deal on it and it's better than riding my mountain bike. It gets the job done......for now. I'm lusting after a Tri bike, but I'll hold off for a few more months/races. My first solo Tri is next month.

Oh, I'm 5'1". In shoes. Embarassed

I just like to post pics of my bike.  :-)  I'm 5'5" with average length legs/torso.  Ride a P2C, 51cm.  Don't know that I would go with it again, but I got a good deal on it and was able to make it fit.  The next size down might have fit better, but I wasn't thrilled about going with 650cm wheels.

I am 5'8" and am on a 51cm Cervelo P2C.  It fits me fine even though it's a "long" bike.  All depends on how you fit it though!

Well, I'm quite short, 5'2 with short legs, so I went the custom option. It's pink, so I'll post a picture. I really wanted 700c wheels, so this is why I went with the custom frame.

Before that I was riding a Trek 2200 WSD, in a size 47, with 650c wheels.

PS - I'm definitely going to get those tyres.

Bumping because I've been web shopping and am very disappointed in what I am seeing.
Very few bikes marketed towards women.  It seems to me bike makers are manufacturing bikes for men and women are an after thought.

I don't need a pink bike though we all know I am drooling over Steph's!  Not even a fan of the QR pink cammo 2910 Dulce but so much black and such masculine colors.  It seems if someone is going to drop $2-3K on a bike there should be some color choices.
