hi. i have a few:
-mash the friuts (forest friuts are the most suitble) the night before with a food proce. then just mix it with the liquid in the morning.
- use a fruity yogurt a substitude for any fruit you want to mesh mechanicly.
- i find the the food processors shapen like a stick very handy , and they dont make that much noise.

Shay-I think you are the smoothie king! You have some great ideas!

As far as protein powders, I get something from Shaklee - a friend of mine sells it - you can't get it in stores - that is an unflavored soy protein powder. It adds a little texture, but no flavor. I think most people here are preferential to whey proteins though. There has to be other unflavored protein powders out there!

I cut yogurt with milk ( about 50/50 ) for my morning shakes. It's not thick like a smoothie, but the yogurt gives it some thickness over just plain milk ( the protein powder thickens it up even more ).

I'll have to try shaycahal's idea of mashing fruit the night before. That sounds good.

Yeah, I had the same question, don't feel so dumb. I can't think of too many forest fruits other than berries.

Maybe tree fruits...like apples, orange and pears were what they meant?

Orange juice with 2 scoops of vanilla protein powder (GNC brand is fairly priced and tastes ok) in a shaker. If you use your imagination (alot of imagination) it tastes like an ORANGE JULIUS.
