I'am in, still trying to decide what to wear.  After the run we are going to Fraser Bike for the sale and then, eithr Toby Kieths' resturant or Joe's Crabs shack for dinner.

Thread Hijack!

The owner of Newton running shoes will be at Fraser at noon to talk about...what else, Newton shoes, so if you are interested in them, stop on by the shop!

Everything is on sale...20% I think.  They will also be hosting a wetsuit demo at L'Anse Cruse High School at 3pm where you can swim and try out wetsuits!  I may be at the wetsuit demo if my day shakes out right.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread!

I'll be there about 9:30. Stupid thing I did.....forgot I promised some guys I'd play in a hockey tournament this weekend at Kensington Valley. Had a playoff game last night in my Novi league, have a tournament game tonight, 2 tournament games tomorrow at 1:00 and 9:00, and then at least one game Sunday so my pace tomorrow at 10 AM.......what pace would crawling be?Laughing I guess I can look at it as my first double brick of the year!

Wow! What a day yesterday! The weather was just about perfect for the run, eh? Being fairly new to BT, thought I might see a little banner or something for the BT'ers to congregate before/after the run.
After a hockey a game Thursday and Friday night, thought I'd take it easy on the run considering I had a game to play at 1:00 after the run. My goal was to run just under a 9:00 pace to finish under 45:00. 1st mile felt good at 8:06 so I decided to keep it up. Lost a little pace through the race and ended up at 42:26 so not bad at an 8:29 pace.
Left the run right away as I had a bad edge on one skate. Shot over to Perfect Edge in Howell, got em sharpened and made the 1 PM game. Our team averages 50 yrs old(I'm 47), played an over 21 team, got beat 8-4. Right after the game, drove from Brighton to Dearborn, picked up my new tri bike!, came home, rested a couple hours, played a 9 PM game, won 8-1. Up this morning, gonna have a little breakfast and off to the rink for a 12:15 game. Got a later one today as well.
This is my kind of weekend! Gotta thank my family for giving me the kitchen pass!

I was way over dressed and so wet by mile two it was really bad.  My goal was to not walk even for a second, which I completed.  It was also my first trail run, so I was trying to learn things for my August race.  I did learn a few things.  Like get my off the treadmill and outside more.

I looked around but did not see anyone that looked like thier pictures on here.  I was the guy over dressed ina  green jacket and a brown Gander Mountain hat.

Overall it was fun.  Next up 5k road race in 2 weeks

The race WAS fun!  Sorry we couldn't all meet up.  There usually will be a tent or banner or something (whether BT or Racing Greyhounds) at the bigger events...so it'll be easier to find people.  I'd never done this race so I didn't know where to say we should meet.

Anyways, I was satisfied with my run.  I finished with a faster pace than I did the week before at the Corktown 5K.  This is only my second trail race and was my longest run of the 2010.  So I'll take it.
