Just had our Wildflower training weekend with my tri club (Golden Gate).  On Saturday, I swam the oly course and biked a double loop of the long course.  On Sunday, I ran the long course and did the pit twice just for fun.  On Monday, I'm tired!

Wildflower is in a league of it's own.  It's a blast, and it will help prepare you for ANY IM!

Hi Linda.  An early good luck to you for Boston.

I see you've done Auburn intl.  Any thoughts on the auburn half?  I'm thinking about doing that this year too.

Hey thats awesome! How is training going for both??

For me it has been a rough couple months of training...fighting sickness and injury. Whenever i start getting in the grove for a few weeks...something comes and messes it up. I think WF will be a very good gauge of my fitness for LP. Have u done any IM's before?

How is everyone elses training coming? any long rides planned for the weekend?

For me i have an ocean swim tonight, then a nice 30-50 mile ride through/around pebble beach on sunday

Had a great trip!  Aboslutely no rain, cold but clear, lots of stars!  Maybe a bit too much wine Friday night, but eh, it wasn't a race!  Headed out at about 9:30, did the whole loop.  I think that most of road has deteriorated over last year, if possible.  Lots of ruts.  Some new paving on Interlake at the top of polar hill, that was nice after Nasty was such a mess.

Lots of people out there training - dozens.

Packing my bike away now until after Boston!

Always tricky to increase training volume and stay healthy...need to make sure you get to the starting line!  WF should be good training for an IM.  What's your tri background?

IMLP will hopefully be my 4th completed IM (and I had a DNF (bike crash) and DNS (still recovering from bike crash) last year).  My training seems to going pretty well.  I did a longish run today and had a big ride last weekend and my swim is coming around too so I can't complain.  I'm pretty much ready for Wildflower, but am really looking ahead to LP and Vineman.

I have had my head so focused on LP that i really havent thought too too much about Wildflower...course maps...swim start time..or even a place to stay :/

vineman bike course should be substantially easier than LP since it's much flatter, but the temps are usually in the 90s.

Yeah flatter should be nicer. I did HIM New Orleans last year...temp over 90 and humidity over 90%...that was interesting!

I'm doing the long course.

I'm driving up from San Diego on Thursday, and returning on Sunday.

If anybody lives on the way and wants to carpool (and split parking/camping fee & gas) lemme know.
