Pre-race routine:

Slept in a little. Strong coffee, sweet sausage, two eggs, wild rice for Breakfast. Drove to CrossFit Providence for pictures and team meet-up. Parked at Providence Place Mall, got race number and shirt. Used the bathroom at Borders.
Event warmup:

Warmed up running and some strides. Neither Kathy's or my Garmin were functioning. Staging at starting line was way too bunched up. Caffeine gel.

Comments:

I probably ran .2 mile sideways on this one. Walkers and joggers were abounding and I passed hundreds (thousands?) of slower folks who weren't lined up right. Couldn't use the sidewalks because of spectators for the parade. Very frustrating since my legs felt wonderful.
What would you do differently?:

Get to start earlier and try to get closer to the front.
Post race
Warm down:

Got water and pizza. Did some yoga stretching on the Statehouse lawn.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Folks in the way who did not stage properly. What else is new?

Event comments:

Finished in top 1/3 overall, in spite of the folks blocking the path.

The starting line staging needs to be spaced out more.

CrossFit Providence placed 2nd in Gym Team at the race! Kyle says, "no surprise, you people are nuts."

My time did not contribute to the win, but I was happy to represent.

Great job representing Kevin.  Even if it was crowded it is tough to argue with a glorious day in the 70 degree sunshine!!

Nice job in tough crowd.

CFP got second which was super.

Next year I'm skipping this race..to crowded and not enough room to line up properly...fun course though.

Speedy you!
