Sweet!!   I'll be rolling outta of Nashville towards Memphis to pick up my cheering squad on wednesday the 14th.  From there we'll be driving down to NOLA on Thursday to kinda enjoy and take in the sites and sounds of the big easy prior to the race.  I did this race last year and I had a great experience with it.  They have taken alot of feedback for the athletes and appears that they have corrected all of it.   Well good luck maybe hope to see you down there.

cheers

This is my first trip to New Orleans and debated about even going based on what I heard about last years event.  Did read the changes and happy about that.  Have a safe drive and glad to hear you are bringing a cheering crowd!  Agreed, perhaps catch up while down there.  Not sure which day I am going to drive the course, possibly saturday before having to drop off bike in transition.  Might swim or ride saturday am, not sure yet, either way, both will be short.  Travel Safe and agreed, might run into you and your cheering crowd while there.

Yep Army over here, and thank you for your service to our country I did 8yrs with 75th Rangers and 82nd Airborne before deciding to get out back in 1997.   I may take in a swim Saturday morning too

You'll love the bike course, closed to traffic and flat flat flat,   just hope the winds to pick up like they did to me around mile 40 last year.

Also glad to see that alot of the run is in the park to keep the runners out of the blazing sun and under those huge trees

Cheers

From what I've read on the other thread is,  that alot of people are heading out to swim on saturday.  When I did this race last year there was a few out there getting in a swim with no hassle from anyone.  I plan on going out on Saturday also probably when I check my bike into transition.

I had a question about getting my bike to the transition.  Are they going to let us drop it off on Saturday?  Surely there will be security to keep everything safe.

My father was a Marine stationed in Millington.  I wanted to enlist but he made me promise to go to school first.  I guess I found another way to serve my country.  Anyhow, I'm also in Memphis.  Are you driving down?

Absolutely the transition area is VERY secure, it is mandatory to have your bike in the transition area by 6 or 7pm on saturday with the exception of the Pro's.  Also your bike # and your wristband have to match so you dont leave with someone elses ride.  But yeah no worries, Law Enforcement is on site and race crew is everywhere.  So no worries

Thank you both for serving this country, from the bottom of my heart.  I live in Nashville but yeah I will driving down after visiting friends in Memphis.

Hello everyone, back from my San Fran trip and got in a bike ride plus swim before the night was done.  On the question of driving down, yes, I am heading down on Friday, not sure what time I am leaving yet but probably mid morning at the latest so I can be settled in before sunset.

Hope your training is going well and carbo load this week and some tapering!  I also might swim on saturday, this would be a first for me if I do, I don't normally swim before a race, so we will see.
