Don't know if I can make dinner but why not shout out dinner for after the pre race meeting Saturday....say 5P? Meet at transition at 4:30 P to decide place?

I'll be the one holding the book and the rose (was this from "You've Got Mail"?

I am bailing on bailing and back in!  Knee has been feeling great, and I figure after spending 25mins or so in freezing water, it will be nice and numb for the remainder of the race.

I'm driving up Sunday morning, so not available Sat night.  Maybe someone can post a BT sign at the post race BBQ?

Not a Clyde this year!  Thanks!

I'll probably be hobbling the run, so I don't pose a threat to many M30-34

I could hang at the post-race BBQ for some BTers!  Depending on the course, I should finish under 3 hours and my hubby might finish around 3:15.  Anyone know if it's still going to rain on Sunday?  I *might* be able to make a sign on poster board!

So, we went to packet pick up/expo and it was raaaaaaaining, so we bailed on the BT gathering at 4:30 (did anyone show up?).  We're at the Hampton Inn.  I guess if there are any BTers at this hotel we'll see you tomorrow at the 5am breakfast!

I don't recall a good spot for any of us to meet at after the race is done. =(  I think I'm going to ask the body marker to write "BT" on one of my uber muscular biceps so people can recognize me.

Hampton inn too. Also having emergency crisis...the non lever end of a skewer fell off somewhere between here and bmore and no open bike shops. Think maintenance can help me? Otherwise I'm SOL to race. Any BT angels out there that can help??? I would be very grateful.

Some roof racks have a quick release...done]'t know if the skewer end is the same...
Keswick Bicycle was at Packet pick up. They had a bike stand. I'll bet they can bail you out. You could also e-mail the race director Michelle. She might be checking....If you need a computer and internet I'm in 205....l

Hey gang. Sorry I missed folks, but I get real anal about my pre race routines and I was cold and wet after so I just bailed. Had to get back to the hotel and shower before checkout.

Had a great race though. What a fantastic course. The hills were brutal going up and screaming fasst going down one spot I went from 36 to 6 in a flash. The rain sucked, but what are you going to do?

RR is posted.

I felt great in the water but I felt a lot of pain when I needed my legs.  I need to learn a bit more about recovery time.  I did my first half mary last weekend and apparently, my legs were still a bit pissed about all that.  I have never experienced pain in the teardrop part of my quads prior to yesterday.  It's like that portion of my legs were just full of lactic acid.  They hurt and they cramped on me.  I was sooo mentally prepared and yet, so ignorant that my legs were not physically prepared.  I was very disappointed in my performance but meeting a lot of you and having a very enjoyable swim made it worth being there.

Pector, Witty, great meeting you both. Witty awesome take in Athena's! I enjoyed the course too. The swim start was what I expected...what I didn't expect was hands and feet nearly the whole way....bazaar.
The bike was tough no doubt but the run being an out and back x2 seemed to showcase all the 6 and 7 minute miler's.

I thought the RD made a great point...think about the race as a celebration of your training...

Pector, I should have a pick or 2 that your in that my wife snapped. I'll get them into the photo section...stay tuned.

I guess I missed everyone.  Hung out near the finish for awhile, but forgot everyone's bib numbers and didn't recognize anyone, oh well, next time.

congrats to everyone on a great race.  I actually thought the water and air temps were pretty perfect.  I was worried about the cold (I tend to do better in heat vs cold) but it wasn't an issue for me so I was very happy.

Oh, and damn! Fighting that chop on the return leg of the swim was not fun!  Luckily I found a draft and he blocked most of it and pulled me in quite nicely while I just coasted, it was awesome.
