Pre-race routine:

For breakfast I ate my normal oatmeal with cranberries, sunflower seeds at around 7:30. About 9:30, I ate 1/2 a protein bar with water.

I felt like I was going a pretty good pace, but when I stopped my watch, I was so discouraged with the 5:44. Last week , I was at least doing 5:15 on 300m. Not really sure what happened.
What would you do differently?:

Work on left arm stroke...hard when I can't see what I'm doing wrong

Took off my shirt, then put on long sleeved underarmor shirt, ear cover, cotton in ears, plus shoes and socks. Just takes time. Was the right amount of clothing on the bike.
