Been working on building my distances and trying to cut my times for an Oly in October. February 27th swam 2150 in hour 15, since then I have not been able to break 1000, began to increase run March 16th ran longest distance 2.75 in 36 minutes. since then I have not been able to get over 2 miles. Today i did 10 miles on the spin cycle, cranked up a good ways (It has been to cold to get more than 2 outsides in this year.) I have been pushing the Swimming, done some 10x 50's and 2x 500's etc.. for speed but it seems like my endurance is slipping. in the running Ihave been moving from 12 min/ mile to 1:45 and 11:30's Am I pushing to much am I not resting enough?
Am I reading right that you did 2150 in 1 hr, 15 min? I know I'm not the fastest swimmer around, but that seems real odd to me...that's a little over 4:30/100. You could almost walk that much in the pool in that time frame. I'm assuming your 1hr15min is with breaks, but how much (time and how often ) are you resting to get that 2150? When you "struggle" to get to 1000, how long is that taking you? How's your form? Do you have the availabilty (time and finances ) for a coach? Just some suggestions on the swim.
