I am doing it too and it will also be my first full.

Well, I should say I am doing it if I can get out of a boot and get past the 3 stress fractures I have in my foot.  Anyone have any suggestions to help that healing?

I'm on the fence. I'm doing Savageman in September and my first ever century ride in October. Not sure if I would be able to adequately train for a marathon in November. Not sure that I even want to try to train. I've done 3 (did Philly twice) so I know what it takes for me to get ready. It is a great race though.

I think I just made up my mind; $125???? $45 more just because I didn't sign up earlier? Eff that!

These fee's are crazy. Was going to race the old PDR / now RNR half....discounted rate was $80....and the last two times I raced it (2007, 2008) I paid $45 for the same race!! It will be interesting to see what happens to the Philly Marathon this year....they've gotten big heads on their shoulders because they've sold out the last couple of years....well now that Boston sold out last year and registration for Boston 2011 opens on 10/18/10 the earlier marathons will be filling up and the later ones like Philly will be suffering. Serves them right...$125 to run the same race that you used to be able to sign up for the day before for $45...only about 6 years ago.

In this economy you would think the RD's would be getting creative with lowering their prices but I guess not.

I'm in as well.  I am attempting to BQ at the Steamtown Marathon 6 weeks earlier (10.10.10) and Philly is my back-up race.

I'm thinking this puppy is going to sell out any second.

Hey, anyone know at what mile, and how long, the cobble section is?

The cobblestones are going to be in the vicinity of mile 5.  I don't know those streets enough to tell you exactly where, but you are definitely looking at crossing them early in the race.

I've done Philly twice and barely remember cobblestones.

Thanks Guys.  I'm not even gonna think about the cobbles again.

Any of you guys and gals really want to get pumped, the movie "Spirit of the Marathon" is free on Hulu.com  http://www.hulu.com/watch/85354/spirit-of-the-marathon

Somehow I figured out how to plug my Inspiron laptop into my tv and I watched it last night on my big screen.  Very insightful and inspiring movie about the Marathon.

Trying to find a room has not been going well.  Thought I found a room at the Latham Hotel (1 mile from start) but they only have smoking rooms left.  BLAAAH.

If anyone knows of any hotels with occupancy within 2 miles of the start line, please let me know

Thanks Man!  Just booked the Holiday Inn Express and got it for $166.00 (Philly Mara discount rate).  1.89 miles from the finish line is as good as it's gonna get!
