Who is doing the Philly Insurance Tri? (Page 2)

First time for me doing the Philly Tri. I am concerned with finding the event. The directions mention the Please Touch Museum, but they also mention a Black Road which I can't seem to find on Google Maps, and, pardon my lack of knowledge, isn't the transition area on the other side of the river from the Please Touch? I can already see the pre-event nightmares starting where I'm driving to the event and the event has already started...

Transition is on the same side of the river as Please Touch. Black Rd is right next to the museum. Transition is at the bottom of Black Rd.

Put this in Google maps:

Thank you. I found my error...there are two Please Touch Museums, and I was looking at the one on the east side of the river.

Actually there is only one, but they moved.

Looking forward to meeting some of y'all this weekend   

I'll be in T2 tomorrow at the Sprint, and body marking before the Oly on Sunday. I'm a blond pale chick and (if I can stand the heat) I'll be wearing a blue Penn cap.

Hey, me too! I'm officially at the bike In portion. I did the swim exit last year. I'll be the black guy at the event. At a triathlon venue, I'm confident you'll be able to find me

I'd give you a description, but I think in a tri-crowd, I'm pretty generic:  6'1, slim build, wearing a steal-grey sleeveless shirt.

I think maybe I'll wear my red Flash (comic character) t-shirt pre and post race. Maybe you can spot me in that.

Hope the water quality improves over this morning's report.

I'm doing the sprint tomorrow.  I cannot wait to get started.  I noticed that the number for the bike has adhesive strips this year as opposed to the holes and twist ties last year.  How/where is everyone mounting their number?

I'll be at the Oly on Sunday.  I'll be wearing Team in Training gear, riding a white & blue Mercier Aero TT, and I have this tattoo on my right calf:

Hey, I'm actually at Run Out... I'll bet I'll cya for a little bit at least!

I'll be there tomorrow for the Sprint.  I'm in the last wave, so most of you will be home having lunch by the time I finish.  Have a great race everybody!

I put mine on the top tube, close to the front.  I had it farther back last year and kept hitting it with my leg. 

Were you the guy with the megaphone at the first cure telling us that, "there's a sharp left turn up ahead,"?

I volunteered at the Sprint only. I was the person telling you to dismount at the line hoping you wouldn't run me over. I saw so many freaking pile ups at the bike dismount. Why do people who obviously only trained a total of 3 days think they need to make a rolling pro-like dismount??? You HAD to have saw me if you did the sprint.

Yeah, I blasted, all right. I'd normally be complaining about having a run time of 26:43, but that heat combined with the lack of shade was brutal. I'm lucky to have been 461 out of 1335 on the run. I was feeling very tempted to join the walkers.

I'm sorry we didn't get to chat on Saturday. Most of my speech would have probably been unintelligible, at least until a while after the event. I'm already thinking about next year. Still haven't done an olympic, so unless another one comes up beforehand, maybe next year Philly will be my first.

If you do see me again, even during an event, just go ahead and slap me, I won't mind.

That was my first tri, and I loved it.  Swim blew (placed 993), bike rocked (placed 200) and run walked (placed 750).  Overall 508.  Not really happy with the result but happy to get number 1 under the belt, and now on to number 2 (NJ State).

Big big big thanks to all of you that volunteered - what a great job you all did!  You all made it great fun!
