Comments:

Came out pretty slowly. Ran with Kevin from Sydney who I met at the forks 15k. Was on auto pilot through six or seven though at that point I was starting to feel stiffness in my legs...leftover from the 15k? The track day? Thought I tapered pretty well for this. Kevin and Ken from Syracuse dropped me around the nine mile mark. I know when to say when and didn't feel bad about that at all. Keeping my eye on the future. Was able to stay "present" and really enjoy it, though I was hurting a bit at the end. Accomplished my goals of not getting injured and having fun.
What would you do differently?:

Train more! How many of us say that after our races. Do the best you can with the time "life" gives you.
Post race
Warm down:

bagel, bananna, g-ade. Chatting with other runners.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training. My first time running this distance as a stand alone running race. Third time in my life I've run this distance period.Still expected more out of myself. Next time!

Event comments:

Great running community in the Ithaca, NY area. Some fantastic athletes. Also a 10k that morning and the national level guys came out for it. Gusting winds at time that stood everybody up. Tucked and drafted as best I could.

Knowing when to say when is a good skill in training and racing.  Wisdom.  You did great!
