Comments:

I developed a pain in my foot, probably my shoe was too tight, about mile 75, and dropped from the group. I stopped at the mile 78 rest stop and could not continue. I got a ride with a volunteer back to the start. The only time I've ever dropped out of an event. A pity as I had a good pace going.
What would you do differently?:

Will have my shoe, and cleat position, and bike fit checked.
