Where do you shop for you tri gear in the Denver area?

Are there any tri specific stores in the area or do you go to the LBS or running store?

Most of my purchases so far have been through bike stores, but the tri section at some of those stores is fairly small.

I am cheap so I won't shop in stores.  I shop race expos (the 5430 expos have some great deals) or online.  Not much help...sorry

I'm cheep too and don't buy much in tri gear.  But Bicycle Village in Aurora has a pretty good selection and at times they have some good sales.  Also, Bike Souce has tri gear but can't say I have ever looked at there selection.

I guess it all depends on what you want. There really isn't any great Tri shop in town since I had to close mine (Trifecta) but B.V. or Adrinlin Cycles is where I'd go for bike stuff, running hit up Runners Roost, and for all your swim stuff check out my shop KompetitiveEdge. We are located at basically Federal and 285/Hamden about 1/2 mile south on the East side of the street. We feature all of TYR's new tri line including the wetsuits. Awesome stuff. Come check it out. You can also purchase stuff from us on line at www.kompetitiveedge.com

Hope it helps.

Swim n' Things on East Evans (near Holly) has a decent selection of swim-related tri stuff. Get on their mailing list, and they occasionally send 20% off coupons.

As mentioned, Bicycle Village, Runners Roost and Bike Source all have some stuff, too. I bought my first tri tank/shorts at REI, but their selection is extremely limited.

Isn't their a more tri-specific store up in Boulder somewhere?

There is Adreneline Tri-Sport in Niwot. Not a huge selection but focused on triathlon for sure.  A good source for wetsuits from what I remember.

I was just at REI a week ago or so, looks like they have a little better selection than what I remember last year.

A couple pieces of info for y'all.

Bikesource Multisport only has tri clothing @ their Highlands Ranch location. The Colo blvd & Yale store no longer carries tri clothing.

Also, Adrenaline Tri Sport closed down a couple months ago.

oh man... Adrenaline shut down? that stinks, I loved that little shop, they helped me out so much when I was getting new gear after my accident.

If you're up in Boulder check out Colorado Multisport.

Swim-n-things = fail, maybe I've spent too much time on Slowtwitch so i'm cynical but I've never had good service from them and I'd rather build relationships than just get price breaks. If you go into KompetitiveEdge on Federal just south of 285(hampden) and tell them Todd sent you in, you'll get 10% off your purchases.

The big Aurora Bicycle Village has a kick-azz tent sale for 2 days(?) periodically. We went last year and there were some deep discounts on nice tri-gear...even tho' that only helps a little with this crazed expensive sport, it was worth the trip I thought.

I was sad, also, to see Adrenaline bite the dirt, it was a nice shop.

The tent sale is great for apparel.  It is usually in March, I actually picked up a new bike there this year.

Also if you are on their mailing list you will get a 50% off coupon for an apparel item or helmet.

I hit up the Boulder sale this year too and they had a full rack of Pearl Izumi size medium samples that were 50% off, picked up a nice pair of their elite tri shorts.

2nd nod for the shop up in Boulder.

Of course there's the Source but I wear their kit, so I better say somethin'!  Not to mention the fact the uber cool Hans is now the manager of the University Shop.

Cool newer shop affiliated with Mile High Multisport called Adrenaline Cycles on Kipling and Bowles next to the Harbor Freight.  Not that he has a ton of tri clothing, but he does have good gear, and what he doesn't have, it sounds like he can get.

Good luck

THIS KILLS ME!!!!

Trifecta Multisport is closed. I'm sorry. I used to own the shop but we had to close due to ecconomic down fall of the world market. If you ever have any tri related questions I'm more than happy to direct you to worth while dealers and if you absolutly can't find something let me know, I still have a lot of connections. Sorry to break the bad news.

Cheers
Todd
