Total Time = 1h 31m 35s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 9/16
Pre-race routine:

Routine? What routine? The transition area was just a bunch of racks--not assigned. We arrived kinda late so we chose to lean our bikes up against the fence rather than try to push other people's stuff around. It worked out.
Event warmup:

Standing around the pool for a short time. I think I did two warm up laps in the pool.
Swim
  • 15m
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

Started first, got passed by the second person and the fifth person in my lane, but ended up lapping a girl in out lane. I counted laps but was signaled that it was my last lap before I was done counting. So I don't know if it was actually the right distance.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

The transitions were not timed separately, so I guess they added T1 to my bike time. I knew ahead of time that this was a "casual" race, so whatever.
What would you do differently?:

Stop fussing over whether to wear a jacket or not. Just go!
Bike
  • 44m 57s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 16.59 mile/hr
Comments:

I passed a few people and was passed a few times.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Moved as quickly as I could.
Run
  • 31m 38s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

Still flat. Legs felt like rocks the whole time. Am I moving? Yes, and at a pretty good pace, but with rock legs.
What would you do differently?:

Actually do bricks.
Post race
Warm down:

Standing around, as usual.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Same thing as always, my own body.

Event comments:

As long as you know that this is a low-key, not exact race, it is fun. I had fun even though I still hold onto those "but I ran faster than that!" kind of thoughts.

I also did the Albany Race.  Thought the same thing about the Run maybe being longer.  When I hit my lap key on my watch at mile two; at least where I thought it was suppose to be (at the corner of 22nd and Waverly) the last 1.11 miles seem to take longer but I know my pace was much faster.  Oh well. It was a great starter race to get the season going.  Are you coming back for the race in August?
