Subject: Final FTP Bike Test Tonight!!!

Hi BT'ers...so, I have my "re-test" for my FTP for the bike tonight...30 minute warm up and then the 30 minutes all out...

Coach says to eat a good lunch...so, my question is, would that be protein, or carbs, or both?

Thanks...your help is MUCH appreciated!!

(These days...with all the advice...I can't keep anything straight   )

Something between deep dish pizza and salad....You don't want to by hungry and you don't want lunch to be sitting in your stomach like a brick..unless you want to see it again.

I think my coach recommends things like Bagel with PB and things like that.

Good luck on the test!

Maybe I'm brain dead today, but I can't figure out what FTP stands for.  I'm a software engineer so "File Transfer Protocol" is all that's coming into my head right now.

Functional Threshold power, 1 hr of power, power at LT.

Sounds like the OP is estimating the FTP by using a 30 min power test and most likely using a % of the result to get to the 1hr of power.

Good luck!

I did my last one Sunday and they hurt..aren't coaches nice that let us do less than an hour?

I eat normal before mine. I may have small carb snack hour before like Nature Valley Granola bar or something about 100-200 calories and something I know agrees with me.

60' you have plenty of glycogen stored for that unless you did a big workout this morning but I doubt it.
