Bret Michaels' condition critical from brain bleed

LOS ANGELES — Bret Michaels is in critical condition suffering from a brain hemorrhage, his publicist said Friday.

Joann Mignano, Michaels' New York-based publicist, confirmed a report on People magazine's website that said the former Poison frontman was rushed to intensive care late Thursday after a severe headache. The report said doctors discovered bleeding at the base of his brain stem.

Gordon Lightfoot came back (mostly) from a critical aneurysm .. it can be done. All the best to him and his family, though.

Quite sad as I've been watching the guy on Celebrity Apprentice all season.  He's still in the game (as it was taped earlier).  He seems like a nice guy.  Sad stuff.

Very scary!  My oldest brother died of an aneurysm and so did his father  (we had different dads).

Bret Michaels is a local guy and many folks around here have told me that he is really down to earth and never had a big head, even when he was at the peak of his popularity.

He is/was supposed to be the featured act for my city's annual festival on May 7. Organizers are still hopeful that he will be able to perform, which I think is kinda wrong. I mean, let the man recover!

Hopefully he recovers and this is not a direct relation to his diabetes.  Diabetics have a stronger possibility of brain bleed/anuerism/stroke than the rest of the general public and I have always been concerned about the way that Michaels "partied" with his disease.  Hopefully this is a) not a result of that (whatever length that was- not really sure except for reputation) and b) will not result in a long term issue with his disease.
