Total Time = 1h 22m
Overall Rank = 131/337
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 22/30
Pre-race routine:

Packet pick up..got body marked, set up transition area. Received timing chip.
Event warmup:

Hit the pool for a two lap warm up. Water was so warm but with all the bodies in the area no doubt it was warm. Got cold when you hit outside still a chill in the area due to the sun not being up quite yet.
Swim
  • 11m 54s
  • 383 yards
  • 03m 07s / 100 yards
Comments:

my cross stroke sucked badly. I saw vidoe that was taken and i was doing it all wrong. No wonder i was so out of breath at the end of two laps. I just wasnt keeping my stroke ahead of me. And allowing myself to keep my legs up. Poor rotation.
What would you do differently?:

Practice, practice, and practice..
Transition 1
  • 02m 7s
Bike
  • 44m 28s
  • 12 miles
  • 16.19 mile/hr
Comments:

slight head wind going out for the first six miles..bumping road no doubt. Passed alot of people felt like i was flying..but at 14-15 mph..didnt feel like that. Turned at the station and headed back and i was flying..hitting speeds at 21mph..must of been the smoother road surface and no head wind. Plus i was in a good pace. Rear brake went out on me on the way out on the bike race. Easy fix for later.
What would you do differently?:

Get some tri shorts..my booty was hurtin..
Transition 2
  • 01m 9s
Run
  • 22m 19s
  • 2 miles
  • 11m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

walked for the first quarter mile maybe..than started up and got a good pace..and ran the rest of it..without stopping. Room for more practicing on speed..otherwise good run.
What would you do differently?:

Just practice more endurance running.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mostly my lack of swim practice. Just didnt get enough of it in. Need to ramp up my practices to focus on stroke more than anything.
