Also received this about the pot holes on Hemming RD.

We are planning on sweeping the shoulders where it makes sense... We will also clean the trash etc....

The County is suppost to fix the pot holes on Hemming Road before the race...

Pass that on... Thanks.

jmacha,

Thanks for posting that info about the road conditions.  Guess I will leave the carbons at home and bang on the trainers. Probably need to toss a few extra tubes in my back pockets.  Good times for sure!

I'm still scarred from riding new chip seal at the Paluxy Pedal 2 years ago; that and the dicey weather methinks I'll wait until June for the Playtri Oly.

I hate to be that guy who starts looking at the forecast 4 days in advance, but right now they are calling for 60% chance of rain and some thunderstorms. SOB!! This is my first race of the season and I am excited to do it!!

What is Dallas Athletes typically policy on weather? All is a go unless there is lightning?

Anyone have any idea on what the water temp is at the lake?

I found a report on May 6th that said 64-68 degrees but that seemed a little cool to me.  But I live in Houston and it was 93 degrees yesterday so pretty much everything seems cool to me right now -- maybe the Denton area isn't as warm!

I read online lake temp of 68-74 yesterday. With all the rain possibly this week could be on the cooler side.

This is my first TexasMan race and I was wondering if someone who raced last year can confirm if the distances are the same as last year or have they changed from 2009?

thanks!

The distances changed. My buddy raced it last year and it was 500m/18 mile/5K. Not sure why the change but assume it is because of the Amica 19.1 series.

I did the Half, and had my garmin under my swim cap, and based on the garmin the Half Swim was roughly 200 yards long.   I had gamin record the distance at roughly 2300 yards.

So your swim pace maybe off, if the course was.

i did the half but I had never done one before so I would know if the swim felt long or short. I thought usually DA races had short swims. Anybody got distances on the bike and run? My bike computer stop recording after 15 minutes cause the rock chips managed to move the sensor out of range.

Yea i thought the run was a little short and the bike a little long but not much. And i didn't swim straight so probably add another 300 to my swim

the actual swim doesnt' start until you are in the water apx 100yards in.  If I remember correctly that's a running beach start
