Anyone thinking about Sun swim? I ever get swimming in and would like to maybe a short ride after or run.

Assuming the weather holds, I could come up in the afternoon.  I'll post Saturday since I will have a clearer idea of what time I can get there from my class in the morning after Saturday's class.

Probably 8am....I swim at the church rd parking area where they do the blueman triathlon. Its a no wake zone so its mostly all fishing boats staying still and if a boat does come through its basically just idleling

I need to get out for an OWS!  I'll be ready to go starting after next weekend (July 12th on) just about any time or day (except Tues and Thurs).  I want to try out my brother's old wetsuit to see if it'll do me any good or if I need o get one for myself.  I'm on the slooooow side and am good for about 1000 yards-probably more if I crawl and backstroke as well.  Any other slowies need to practice?  Also up for a bike ride and or trail run as well after the swims.

ferretracer.... I'm always done for a swim. I dont mind dropping the pace and definitely down for a ride or trail run afterwards! always more exciting with a group. As far as a wetsuit goes, the past 3 times ive been out I havent worn one. The water is warm and with the air being warm as well wearing a wetsuit can be hot! just my 2 cents. But let me know of a date and time you would be free and maybe we can get a small group!

I am on vacation next week but will be back next weekend. I might not be able to get there that weekend but I'd like to get out there for a full training day. The drive is hefty for me but manageable esp. if I include a ride/ run after. How 'bout we start planning for the weekend of the 17th/ 18th?

I'm up for the weekend of the 17th/18th.  I can also swim earlier than that.  I'm hoping to get to the pool three times a week the rest of the summer as well as an OWS or an OWS in place of a pool swim.  I was able to do it two weeks ago but spent last week at the beach, so no pool.  I was a bit too tentative to swim in the ocean alone so I didn't bring my ear plugs and goggles but after I did do about 100 yards or so swimming back and forth in front of a lifeguard watched area I then wished I had brought them!

If I can get there earlier than the 17th/18th, I'll post it here!

Alright guys any plans for a swim and bike or swim and something this weekend? Saturday or Sunday? I think saturday works the best for me, thinking of getting started early with the swim when the least boats are out, then heading out for a bike ride? Let me know if anyone is interested and we can get a group I usually swim at the church rd parking area

I am checking to see if the sitters (aka grandparents) are available Saturday morning (my wife's going to a wedding and taking her mom, not me!!).  What time were you thinking?  I could do any time on Sunday.  I'll bring my running shoes and bike.  I am hoping my new orthotics will be in, if not I'm only good for about 2 miles before the knee starts to give me grief.  Length of bike depends on speed!

Erik

I'm in!  I can make it!  My wife doesn't leave until later and my parents are gonna take the kids to lunch!  I managed to get 1150 in last Friday (I thought it was 1200 until I saw my 200 splits- one was A LOT faster than the rest...) and could have done more but only had those 30 minutes to swim (yeah, 1150 in 30 minutes, slooooow).  So, basically, I can do more than I thought (and previously mentioned).  SO I will definitely be there with all my gear!

I am interested in both swimming and cycling. Any distance for both will work for me. I need to confirm a few things on my end but will plan on being there Sat morning.

I'll be there as well.  My name is Erik Ammon, I drive a '98 green Subaru Imprezza Outback Sport.  I'll have a Litespeed Catalyst in the trunk (I don't have a lock for my rack- big sin!).  Hopefully we'll have a nice turn out!

Hello... I'm interested in getting in on the swim on Saturday.  It looks like about an hour and 15 minute drive, but any OWS is a hike for me.  Are you thinking 7:30?  I have to clear it with the wife (we have a house full of people coming over later in the afternoon), but I don't want to miss this oppty.  How often do BT folks get out to swim at BML?
