Looks like there are only 5 from BT that are racing this event.  Anyone ridden the bike course?

I'm in.

No idea about the bike course. I saw the elevation graph and it will be rollers with an elevation gain of 171'. For 8.5 miles it should be a hammer-fest the entire way. The only climb I saw was the first mile or .75 of a mile, other than that rollers.

I thought the run was a simple two big circles, but based on the map that was emailed out yesterday it looks like a technical run around the park, and then back through the parking lot, then repeat first loop but then at the end of the second loop, it loops back around to the tranistion parking lot for the finish. Looks like a hilly run with the peak being at the top end of the course. However, it is only 1 mile each loop, so no big deal. As long as they have people there pointing you in the right direction, I can run where I am told.

The run is weaving all through the parking lot and just over twice around the field.  With the time trial start there will be people on all three loops.  It could get confusing...hope I don't lose count!

Yeah, I better study that course map. I know I'll get screwed up. Hopefully there will be plenty of volunteers pointing the lost sheep in the right direction.

You could but the race is on Sunday, so I am not sure who you could play with on Saturday.

Unfortunately, registration is closed and there are not same-day sign ups from my understanding. Sorry Phat, I signed up at the very last second, or I would have invited you to come play. My bad.

You might try and email Jim Rainey:   [email protected]

It doesn't sound like they have a big field.  Try saying something about getting permission from the wife and you didn't realize that registration closed so early for this one.

It will be fun meeting some of the other BTers, especially the first timers, at the event.  Wish there was an easy way to identify everyone.  Anyone staying in hotel near there?  I will drive up Saturday and stay the night, near the Mall of Georgia, I guess.  Any hotel suggestions?

Jim just texted me the following in response to a question about reg being closed?:

"Use but you can register on Sat @ packet pick up starting at 10"

Wonder what use means in that sentence, but it looks like reg is still open on-site!

Brian,  I got mine....lucky 13!  I tried to get them to change my swim time.  She said to just let some people start before me if I wanted to.  So, I will check on that at the start of the swim.  Best of luck and I will look for  you tomorrow morning.

Got to meet two Brians, Coldfire and MultisportMinistries.  Kerry,  I didn't see you at the race.  Where you number 92?  I know Coldfire was #14.  I let him go ahead of me on the swim so I wouldn't get run over by him.  But I did manage to stay on his feet for a while.  Laughing

MulitsportMinistries - Brian,  I can't find you on the final results page?  Where did #42 go?

It was great to meet Brian and Brian.  I look forward to meeting others on the tri trail.

It was very nice meeting you Calvin, and congrats on your first race! Will I be seeing you again at the Turtle Crawl?

The other Brian is under the clydes results. They are broken out for whatever reason.

I missed out. I clipped a curb running on Friday and rolled my ankle (again!!). So I missed both my 5k and the tri. I'm really upset about it. Now I'm looking for something toward the end of May that maybe I can train up for.
