Sorry to hear about your ankle.  I looked for you at the transition clinic on Saturday but didn't think I saw you.  I hope you recover quickly.  Come on down to Jekyll Island for the Turtle Crawl sprint!

That was me, #92 - right behind you in our age group Undecided.

I had a great time and learned a lot about pre-race nutrition, as the Cytomax I had on the bike didn't agree with me during the run and cost me a couple of minutes while it did a backflip during the first lap. It's never caused a problem in training, but race conditions are clearly different. Lesson learned.

BTW - did anyone happen to notice #76 - Georgia Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle? I met him Saturday afternoon when I picked up my packet. Kinda cool to see politicians out competing with the hoi polloi.

Hey Kerry,  Sorry we didn't meet in person.  When is your next race?  I didn't know Cagel was racing.  That is cool!  And we both beat him, too!  I wish I would have met him there.

I have a ride tomorrow to try and work on those dang hills.  Got to find a way to keep up the speed going up.  Let me know when your next event is scheduled.

My next event is the "My First" at Lake Lanier on June 5. I don't hear very good things about it, but the money is already spent - might well give it a go!

Kerry!  I have done this race twice...it's lots of fun.  Swim  is a breeze parallel to the shore.  Bike is not tooooo bad for a sprint and the run ends up being less than 3 miles.  Pretty well organized......I think you will like it.

I will be at MF/MX as well.

Brian is right, the course is not bad. Swim is easy, long run to T1, bike is mainly rollers with one actual climb (which BTW, since they finished the construction at the park, rolling in and out of the park is freaking awesome across those bridges and stuff), run is mainly flat with two nasty climbs, but you go up and over pretty quick.

Thanks for the info, guys. The negative comments I've heard were related to the organizational parts of the race - not enough volunteers, a bit disjointed, etc. Was your experience different?
