Pre-race routine:

I got lost driving to the event, but eventually found my way there. Luckily I'm insane and need to be places WAY earlier than I need to be. So I still had plenty of time to get there, and wait for our start time.
Event warmup:

For warming up, I decided to do some serious sitting around watching people fling themselves into the first mud pit. It was brilliant.

Comments:

If you don't know, a Mud Run is a run with a millitary style obstacle course. This race was 4 miles, with 35 obstacles.

Just because I can, I will list them all.

Obstacle #1 Low Crawl:
On your stomach, low crawl under the rope net.
Fun, lots of mud. I got mud in my eyes, and saw everything with a brown tint for 5 or 10 minutes.
Obstacle #2 Humvee Crawl:
On your stomach or hands and knees, crawl under the
Humvee. Pretty simple, nothing to report.
Obstacle #3 Tire Flip:
Team must flip truck tire 6 times. (3 down, 3 back)
Also very easy.
Obstacle #4 Knee High Tires:
Step through the tires with alternating footing. Most simple of the day.
Obstacle #5 Mud Pit:
Team members must work their way through the mud pit on
their hands and knees and climb out the opposite side
Crawling through mud, in case some came off on the last few obstacles.
Obstacle #6 6’ Climbing Wall:
Hoist yourself/teammates over the wall.
I'm fat, and got a foot boost from teammates. We shall now assume that this happens at every wall unless otherwise noted.
Obstacle #7 6’ Climbing Wall:
Hoist yourself/teammates over the wall.
And another wall.
Obstacle #8 Rope Wall
Using the rope, hoist yourself/teammates over the top and
climb down opposite side.
Not too bad. The wall was super slick with mud though.
Obstacle #9 Stretcher Run: (approx. 70 yards)
Three team members must carry the fourth member on the
stretcher.
Pretty standard here too. We carried the female on the team.
Obstacle #10 Stream Crossing:
Team members must climb the embankment and then cross
the stream.
There was a person in the stream that had dropped his keys. That must have sucked.
Obstacle #11 Low Crawl:
On your back, head first, crawl under the rope net.
We missed the note on going on your back. Oh well.
Obstacle #12 Stairway to Heaven:
Climb up one side of the ladder and climb down the other.
Just what it sounds like, climbing a wooden ladder made from 2x4's.
Obstacle #13 Low Crawl:
On your stomach, low crawl under the rope net.
Obstacle #14 Reverse Incline Wall:
Hoist yourself/teammates over the wall.
I might have made it over this one on my own.
Obstacle #15 Hip Hop:
Hop over the four parallel beams.
Easy, I was tall enough to be able to clear these with minimal effort.
Obstacle #16 Belly Buster:
Teams must maneuver over the horizontal bars on their
hands and knees or stomachs. Team members can touch the
ground between vertical bars. Team members can assist
other team members over the horizontal bars.
Easy here too.
Obstacle #17 Rope Swing:
All team members (one at a time per rope) use the rope to swing
over the trench.
Not too bad. Pitfall Harry has nothing on us.
Obstacle #18 Rope Bridge:
One team member at a time, cross over the rope bridge.
This was another relatively easy one.
Obstacle #19 Stream Run:
Team members must follow the stream approx. 100 yards.
This was pretty easy, and felt nice after the longest run segment.
Obstacle #20 Cargo Net:
Team members must carefully climb the cargo net, cross the
top and climb down the back side of the obstacle.
Not terrible, but not great either. Cargo nets aren't made for climbing I think.
Obstacle #21 6’ Climbing Wall:
Hoist yourself/teammates over the wall.
Another stupid wall.
Obstacle #22 Tire Thru:
Team members must assist their team through the hanging
tire. All team members must go through the tire.
One of my favorites. I went feet first, and the sliding out the tire really stretched my back. I felt quite refreshed after that. Seriously though, I could not have done this obstacle at my previous weight. I'd have been stuck like Pooh in Rabbit's wall.
Obstacle #23 Stream Run:
Team members must follow the stream approximately 100
yards. Be careful of loose rocks and the slippery stream
bottom.
More stream work, nice and cooling on the legs.
Obstacle #24 6’ Climbing Walls:
Hoist yourself/teammates over the wall.
Stupid wall. At this point I thought I might just be able to run into the wall and knock it over.
Obstacle #25 Balance beam:
Team members must cross the balance beams. Anyone who
falls off must get back on the beam where he/she fell off
and continue. Easy as well. Especially since I've been taking my son to his toddler gymnastic classes and walk on the beam with him there. I thought about doing some crazy dismount, but then realized I would land on my head and die. So a simple step off, but with Ta-Da arms at the end was my trick.
Obstacle #26 Tire up and over:
Team members must pick up the tire and place it over the
pole and take it back off again.
We had the girl on the team stand on my shoulders (she's a spritely little thing at only 108 pounds.) then we handed her the tire, and she put it over the pole. Then they handed it back to her and she took it off. Easy as pie.
Obstacle #27 Hurdle
Teams must jump over the 2’ wall.
I showed this wall who the boss was. I swear it called me Tony Danza.
Obstacle #28 Balance Beam Wall:
Team members must walk up one side of the balance beam
wall and down the other side.
This thing was caked in mud and rather slick. One team member fell off and got muddy.
Obstacle #29 Rock Climbing Wall:
Teams will carefully climb the rock wall and climb down the
other side.
This was also way slick from all the previous people. Kind of a pain to do, but we got through it.

Obstacle #30 7 Ton Up and Over:
Teams will climb over the 7 Ton Military truck.
Climb up the tire, and back down. Not much too it, but we were all getting pretty tired at this point.
Obstacle #31 Mud Pit:
Team members must work their way through the 4’ mud pit
and climb out the opposite side and over the dirt pile.
Just walking through more mud. I almost lost a shoe.
Obstacle #33 8’ Vertical Wall:
Hoist yourself/teammates over the wall. There is a platform
at the top of the wall that can be used to assist other
teammates.
Nasty. I went up first, and used the side of the wall for gripping, and climbing leverage. Then I laid down and help pull people up. Also when my team was done, I helped the first person from the team behind us up the wall. All girl teams are at a big disadvantage on this one as they're usually not as tall as dudes to be able to grab the top of the wall.
Obstacle #33 Fireman’s Carry:
Two team members carry the other two members across the
line at member’s discretion (in arms, on backs, etc.).
I carried my person over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
Obstacle #34 Finish Line:
Breathe a sigh of relief!
Also, finally stop to get all the stones out of your shoe.
Obstacle #35 Shower
Ok, I added this one after listening to all the people crying that the water was cold. I just stood under the shower head when it was my turn. Yeah, it was cold, sure, it made it a tad hard to breathe, but it felt great. Plus I got rather clean.
What would you do differently?:

Not be fat. Wear better shoes.
Post race
Warm down:

Had some orange slices and some water. Took an after picture with the team.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being fat, slow, and slogging through mud. Some obstacles you had a short wait before your team could start. But that did give a nice little rest.

Event comments:

Our team had so much fun, we talked about signing up for another one in September. I guess I'll need new shoes for that by then, since I am throwing out the ones I wore for this race. They didn't fit well, and tore up the back of my ankle. I hadn't worn them in so long I forgot why I quit wearing them.

In the pictures, I'm the fat one, with the way too tough sleeveless t-shirt.  And yes, I'm that tough.  *insert your own dramatic eye rolls please*
