Comments:

horn goes off and away djdavey goes. goal was to push the pace here some but try to be controlled. fail. felt like i was tight and fatigued from teh get go but was passing people left and right, and then the mile marker was upon me, thinking man, this feels terrible, wouldnt be surprised if it was around 6 or so..........nope, freakin 4:58!!! im telling ya, as great as it feels to know i can go sub 5 for the mile, i wish it wouldve been found out under different circumstances!!! my thought was uh oh, thats gonna hurt!! yep, hurt it did. ouchers!
What would you do differently?:

how about pace a bit better?

Transition 1
  • 01m 18s
Comments:

yeah, feeling the effects of the run on this bigtime!!! saw lots of stars, almost ran into a bigazz tree right by my spot......was surprised this wasnt over 2 minutes to be honest. already in survival mode at this point!
What would you do differently?:

better run 1
Bike
  • 57m 32s
  • 19.5 miles
  • 20.34 mile/hr
Comments:

ugh......thought i was having a GREAT ride, passing people lots.....thinking in my head at one point was like, man havent seen any mile markers, must have like 6 to go or so.........and then around the next turn i see the 10 mile marker!! ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME??? ONLY TEN MILES???? ugh.......motivational lift kinda tho..........
What would you do differently?:

i would start with more bike training, but im in marathon training mode and the bike has taken a back seat to running............
Transition 2
  • 01m 1s
Comments:

this was alright...............fumbled with my left shoe a bit.........
What would you do differently?:

um, not fumble with my left shoe???
Run
  • 12m 22s
  • 2 miles
  • 06m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

legs were fatigued on this one so just decided one person at a time and run them down.........got me land legs back just before the mile and then picked it up from there.....
What would you do differently?:

not too much........wouldve like to have been faster but first multisport of the season
Post race
Warm down:

dude, warm down??? seriously........cheer in teammates, french toast, donut chunks, PB&Js, choco milk...........

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nadda.........

Event comments:

course was OK, if they could do something about those bugs that provided extra protein chunks on the both runs and the bike, that would be good, but they were kinda tasty tho!!!

I don't even know what a 5 minute mile looks like. Those are some crazy fast run splits. Fantastic job. I am glad that my age puts me outside of your age group and that you don't run in my local 5Ks. Great start to the season.
