Run
Comments: The course is the Champion Trail. It is flat. They use to run "hills" thus the name. But now days- no hills. *Shrug* Since I did not train for this race, and I had not run for 2 solid weeks in April, I just decided to go out and do what I could do. I ran the whole way, but did walk an aid station once. I was spent by mile 5. I was feeling the lack of training- big time! Oh and I started late thanks to the port-o-john line being so long. So I got to see the race from the front to back. I ran through slow walkers, fast walker, and then runners. :) I think I got passed twice? What would you do differently?: Train! Ha! Post race
Warm down: Found my friends and ate some food. Got cold and went home. Event comments: This is a bare bones race. It is cool to go out and do a race with a field of 95% women though. The course is boring, but it is nice to just run with other people around. They tried hard to organize it, but only opened one entrance to the parking garage. Which lead to really horrible traffic trying to park. Then they put the timing chips in the parking garage, but there were no signs and they didn't say it would be there in the emails. So, everyone walked to the start, only to have to walk back to get their timing chip. Just created a lot of useless walking (in my case running!) before the race. I'll do this race again, but next time I will wake up on time, and look for my packet and timing chip at the parking garage. Last updated: 2010-03-30 12:00 AM

Got up late, rushed to the race site.
Ran over to the "start line" to find packet pick up. Asked a volunteer where it was. She said, "It is PROBABLY with the chips- at the parking garage". I asked her again and I got the same reply. So I went to go around the corner in the opposite direction... then she yelled at me, "LADY! I SAID IT IS WITH THE CHIPS AT THE PARKING GARAGE!" Trust me, she was being extremely rude and I was standing right next to her. I let her know that PROBABLY means she WAS NOT SURE about where it was, thus I wasn't sure she knew.
What a great way to start a race.
On a positive note, in 6 years of racing, she is the FIRST RUDE volunteer I have ever experienced.
