Ok, that episode just made me cry like a baby.  Really??  Sayid and Jin and Sun?  And Lapidus too?  And seeing Hurley cry?  Oh my god.  One of the saddest things I've seen on television in quite a long time.  I'm very distraught right now.

... what is this going to do to those characters in the sideways world?

And from the looks of next week's preview, this thing really is going to boil down to a Jacob/MIB and a Jack/Flocke thing.  Kinda of disappointing, but I guess not unexpected.

Damnit.  Why couldn't they have killed off Kate?  I'd rather have her gone than the other three.

Wah.

I've wondered this before, and assumed it simply had to do with needing a pilot.. but why was Lapidus kept around this long?  He's hardly said a word this entire season, so why keep him around if they were just going to kill him off now?  And where are Richard, Ben, and Miles??

Swam out through the blast holes....

How 'bout that Sayid takin' one for the team? Guess he wasn't so "evil" after all!

Hurley: "What about Sayid?"

Jack: "There IS no Sayid!"

My wife and I discussed that he was no longer needed after they weren't going to use the airplane. I assume that he was kept around solely for this reason (who else could fly the thing?).

Looks to me like Jack is figuring everything out and going to re-assume his leadership role.

Flocke is one bad a$$.

I don't mind Kate still being there, but as pointed out, her name is crossed off and probably expendable. What about Claire? Is she a goner too? I don't think she's bullet-proof like FLocke.

Great episode!

I was meh around Sayid and Lapidus but had a sad moment when they showed Jin and Sun floating apart

I take note to how Flock could sense not all of them are dead but doesn’t know that Desmond is alive. Is it only the chosen he can sense?

I'm assuming he knew there were still others alive b/c he was still there.....I'm thinking if he is capable of killing them all....then he will "get off the island"...however I think getting off the island for him isn't the same as the rest of them......getting off for him isn't leaving on a boat...its going to be like his soul gets to escape or something.....

I don't think it will do much to Sun/Jin in Sideways world, as it felt like their story was pretty much concluded in the hospital. That was one of the reasons I figured they'd get killed off...that, and they were the couple everyone was rooting for.

Weren't Ben, Richard and Miles going to try to stop the MIB?  I remember Miles saying that he saw him kill everyone at the temple and didn't want to go with the others.

What about Desmond?  He's still in a hole, right? I couldn't tell exactly what Sayid said to Jack other than he's the one - did he tell him to find Desmond?  I knew he was going to sacrifice himself - glad to see they let him go out as a hero instead of as a bad guy!  I just thought Shannon would be a part of it, somehow.

I wonder if the remaining Kwon (daughter) could be a candidate as well?  Hmm, probably not.

Another reflection episode with Jack and Claire - the only one who hasn't had one is Hurley, and it makes me think he's the one that survives at the end as the "candidate".

Yeah, I think there's something to this.  I get the feeling sideways Locke is really important in this too.  For most of the show Locke was the man of faith and sideways Locke doesn't seem to have had the event happen yet to turn him into that guy.

I'm wondering what Widmore is up to.  Seems like for as much of a fight as FLocke was expecting Widmore has been nowhere to be seen except for some token resistance.  I don't think he's put up his real fight yet.

And I called the whole Sayid sacrificing himself to save everyone way back in the beginning of the season.  I believe Kate's name was crossed out in the cave but it wasn't at the lighthouse so she may still be important...

That was mrs gearboy's take as well.  OK, it is very sad that Sun is going to drown.  But even if he never met her, Jin DOES have a daughter.  Who now gets to lose both parents.

Personally, I think they are planning to end the whole thing by just killing off all the characters.  They have made such a mess of the plot holes, the "lost" threads (like the mr ecko, or the magical powers of the kid from the first season, and even the polar bear), that their best idea now is to just wipe the slate clean.  And maybe make it all turn out to be a dream (a la "Dallas" and Patrick Duffy's return)

I don't think the polar bear or Ecko threads were 'lost' so much as 'finished'. They explained the polar bear & Ecko was killed by TSM, so I'd consider those both concluded. Of course, I'm going from memory here, so I could be remembering wrong.

The authors have promised that there will be no cop-out season finale that shows it was all a dream or something like that.

They also said that it's not necessarily going to all be explained in black & white; they used an analogy about drawing 75% of a circle and letting the audience draw the last 25%.

Is the pilot really dead.. Lapidius(sp), I was pretty sure that he ended up dying just like the subs captain, but maybe he's still alive... after all if the rest of them are getting off the island or even windmores group, there is no more sub but there is a plane.

or is that the reason we found out the sideways locke was a pilot, he kicks the smoke monster out of his body and they all fly off???   then again he did crash his own plane so maybe not.

Read last night that they are expanding the finale to 2:30 hours, and the producers said that we will be left with questions.
