Ok, I pulled the trigger.  I wasn't going to, but I decided to go ahead and do the half.  For some reason running a full marathon alone without first doing a swim and  a bike ride doesn't appeal to me.  There must be something really wrong with my head!

Yep, they do a nice job with their pace groups.  You can wait until packet pickup and sign up there.  That's what I did last year.

Hmmmm, me thinks I might check with my coach to see what running I've left to do before Florida.  Hmmmm.   Perhaps I can join you Super Coop!  If it's a longer run, I may just be cheap and run Paint Creek instead, but if not....Hmmmmmm!

LOL!  If Trish does a run that is not okayed by her coach, the apocalypse has truly arrived.  She is a good girl who follows the rules.  We MUST corrupt.

I think naked sunbather guy has me on the path of corruption!  And yes, I paid good money for Coach's plan and advice, so I will follow the rules! So far so good!   But keep trying to lure me to the dark side...it's kinda fun on the dark side!

I'm good for at least one "GO WHITE"...even at mile 25.  Thanks for being there.  I suspect the green and white bandwagon has picked up a few more passengers after the thrashing this past weekend.

How about a meeting place?  The start is at W. Fort and 2nd, so how about in front of Cobo Joe's which is on Congress right in front of Cobo Hall?

If I can find it I would love to meet people from BT.  What time?

I'm Detroit illiterate so parking will be interesting also.  Anyone have any suggestions for parking saturday afternoon for the expo and then sunday morning early.

Well, the first wave goes off at 7am, so how about 6:30?  I'll have my Cedar Point Rev3 finisher shirt on.

Click the link for a map to Cobo Joe's

As for parking on Friday or Sat, I'd suggest following the signs to the Cobo parking deck - that's probably the easiest.  If you drive down any of the side streets there are also quite a few paid parking lots, but they tend to cost more than the parking structure - you might  find some metered parking on the side streets too.  As for race day, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do.  I'll be coming in from the Lodge so it'll probably be a game day decision based on traffic into the parking decks.  I might end up getting off on Bagley and then finding something around Lafayette or Howard.

Looks easy enough.  I'm coming in from Chelsea if anyone wants to carpool.  I plan on getting there really early (Leaving my house at 5am) because I suck getting around the city.  I'll plan on just parking at COBO.  Thanks for the info.

I'll be wearing my Reeds Lake triathlon shirt.  It's dark blue.  If it's chilly I'll have a black long sleeve underarmor shirt.  See folks sunday.

I'm coming in from the Lansing area and am staying Saturday night at the Ren. Center.  I don't want to deal with driving or parking on Sunday morning.  I'll try to find folks Sunday though.  I think I'll be wearing my red trail (half) marathon shirt.

From the website:

When choosing a location, we strongly recommend parking outside the course route, for easier egress after the race. Also, because of the congestion, we suggest you are in your parking spot before the streets close at 6:00AM.

PLEASE NOTE: The old MGM Casino that was used for Marathon parking last year will NOT be open this year. Also, because of street closings for the Marathon,  Cobo Center Rooftop Parking will not be accessible and therefore is not open on race day.
