Subject: Lowell Area Open Water
Anyone got a good suggestion for some open water swimming in the Lowell Area?

I'll hit up Walden, but would rather something a lil closer.

Lowell City Beach at Heritage State park, Pawtucket Blvd., and swim in the Merrimack River (a "Class B" river).  Beach is located ~ a mile upstream from the dam. 
There is the Mill City Tri takes place in July that swims there, upstream from the beach along the wall then downstream back.  There is a large sign painted on the wall "750", indicating the turn around point for the oly distance race. 
Some times you'll see triathletes practicing there in weekend mornings. 
Great way to practice swimming against the current.  Like salmons.
