Bump, for anyone doing the Tejas.

I've seen in a few places 600M swim but the official site says 600Y swim, also anyone know if this is an out-back or point-to-point?

Nope, too far off.....  I think my goal will be to push as hard as I can on the bike, and try to hold for as long as I can on the run. This is going to be my "throw caution to the wind" race. Should be fun regardless.

I'm signed up.  This will be only my second, after the Lonestar last month.  I'd never done even a fun run (or walk) before that, so I'm a couch-potato turned triathlete-wanna-be.  At the Lonestar, I felt kind of cheated on the swim, so I had to sign up for another one.  Anyway, I bought the gear so I better use it, right?

out-and-back kinda... dog legged swim route... tight - gets a lil' crowded at points.

How deep is it? do you know?

Looking at googlemaps, there is no way that that is only 600 yards

between 5-10' through out the route...if I remember right?  I don't remember scraping the bottom while swimming this course, unlike some of the other neighborhood lake swims.

Looking at Googlemaps, that route looks like way more than 600 yards...i better get to swimming more!

Finally paid for this! Now it's official!

I'm a little nervous! It's only my second triathlon and it'll be the first time I've gone alone!

Awww thanks! I think it's necessary for me to do this one "alone." My first and last triathlon I had a few family members there and though I was super grateful for their support, I felt restricted...like I couldn't celebrate for myself or with others. I know that's rude...but it's the truth. This time, I want to just be in the moment!

sign up.  It is short and by the looks of your training logs you'll breeze through it.  Think of it as a tempo training day for all three disciplines.

AND you get to heckle us slower BT'ers at the finish line.
