I just received an email from amputee Paul Martin who recently raced at Ironman USA in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho last Sunday and clocked a 10:09:17 - a new leg amputee World Record!

And he's also been nominated for an ESPY Award for the Best Male Athlete with a Disability. For those you of you who don't watch much Sports Center, the ESPY's are the Grammys/Oscars of Sports presented by ESPN. The show takes place in LA at the Kodak Theatre on July 13 and broadcasts on ESPN on July 17.

He would be very appreciative if you would please click here and vote for him.

This guy is truly amazing!

My hats off to him.  Makes me want to work harder to just achieve my goals.

Thanks Max,

I was just going to post this. Rudy Garcia-Tolsen is also a double amputee who does triathlons. I don't want to steal Paul's thunder because I voted for him too. But Rudy is also a good choice.

Thanks

Tom

I had the pleasure of giving Rudy bodyboarding lessons about 8 years ago when he was just getting into the multisport world. Great kid with a great attitude!

Thanks for the pic ... what a wallpaper it will make.

That guy just single-handeldy squashed my training excuses ... even my best ones, like my dog ate my swim trunks.
