Swim
Comments: I had to wait for all the slower swimmers (by predicted time) to start first. The first wave started at 8 a.m. and I probably got in the pool at around 10:30 a.m. I still kept well hydrated and I did not mind to wait too much. Considering that swimming is not my strength, I was extremely satisfied with my swim. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: I don't have tri specific cycling shoes, but I still executed the transition smoothly. Bike
Comments: I biked fairly well. The time includes both transitions. The only mishap was when I took a wrong turn and went 20-30 meters off track and hand to turn around and continue on the designated course. That's just what happens when you're not familiar with the course. What would you do differently?: Know the course. Transition 2
Comments: I slowed down too much approaching the dismount line. What would you do differently?: Not slow down that much. Run
Comments: I surprised myself with how fast I ran. I did not think I would hold a good pace, and this is my best ever 5k time in a triathlon so I could not be more pleased. I was coughing a bit during the run recovering from a respiratory infection, but not enough to impede my racing. Also, I took some water from a lady and I did not swallow it properly and started to choke a bit, no big deal. What would you do differently?: Not too much, I was very pleased with the run and I had a good kick at the end. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I was recovering from a respiratory infection, but I'm not sure if that effected me too much. Event comments: Great triathlon, and I hope to be coming back next year. Last updated: 2010-03-21 12:00 AM
