Subject: Cleat position
Hi All

Has anyone tried with varying the position of your shoe cleats?
I have always set my cleats up with the ball of my foot in line with the pedal axle but have been reading more and more about the benefits of moving the cleat back so that the ball of the foot is well in front of the pedal axle?
Has anyone actually tried this and if so have you noticed any benefits?

Jonathan

I have my cleats jammed as far back as they'll go after having some PF and other arch/heel pain issues.  My n=1 experience was that it was a good move.

I use to have mine adjusted with the ball of my foot until with some trial and error and a good fitter, slid them back some until my toes were slightly clinched. I did find that this added a decent amount of power. Good luck!
