Pre-race routine:

Got there early. Picked up packet, body marking and chip, set up transition and then sat in my car for a few minutes relaxing!
Event warmup:

Couple of laps in the pool about 15 minutes before the event began.

Caught up to the person in front of me but couldn't pass him. As a result, the good behind me caught up to me. We ended up getting out of the pool at the same time.
What would you do differently?:

Big mistake wearing my new "tri top". I should have known it fit too loosely to be worn in the pool. I definitely noticed it dragging early on.

Felt like I did it pretty quickly but still slower than just about everyone else.

Messing around with my towel cost me some time.

Felt good. Definitely got stronger as the run went on. Last 1.1 miles was in 6:40.

Event comments:

Lots of volunteers and the course was very well marked off. If you're looking for post-race activities, though, this isn't it. Water bottles available in coolers at the finish but that's it. No Gatorade, no food. Also, you had to walk 1/2 mile or so back to the start/transition area to get your bike.
