Pre-race routine:

Got up about 1.5 hrs prior to TA open and made myself eat since I knew I would be waiting forever for my wave. Sipped a disposable bottle of water for the hour between TA close and go time, then chucked the bottle in the trash can on the beach.
Event warmup:

Splashed around for a bit about 30 mins prior to wave start. Note to self, goggles get slimy/foggy inside after doing this which made the race suck.

First time in OW, wasn't sure what to expect. Swim was poor as anticipated.

RD said no AG flying squirrel mounts and we couldnt run inside the TA which made for slow T1 coupled w/ the ridiculous 1/4 mile uphill switchback run from the swim exit into TA

Since this was my first tri, I wasn't sure how hard to push it on the bike. Could have gone faster through turns but there were a lot of people on the course and I didn't want to crash into anyone or make anyone else crash.

Get out of shoes before dismount line instead of keeping them on and running into TA w/ them on my feet.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My swim sucked, and I didn't push hard enough on the other two events.

Good race for a first timer like myself. Marked well, pre race vid at expo was very helpful. Will run it again.
