Swim
Comments: Swim was pretty chaotic as expected. I had not done an open water swim in years, all my plans for stroke, breathing, etc went out the door once we bunched up, the water was so cold I was just looking buoy to buoy. Some guy was in a panic and pushed himself up using me as a base, lifeguard training kicked in and i dove down and found a hole between some people to surface out of. Was not able to find a groove so I side stroked most of the swim. What would you do differently?: Wetsuit or faster run into the water to get away from the pack. Transition 1
Comments: No real plan or organization, I was treating this race as a training day and as my immersion back into the sport. What would you do differently?: Practice and plan out my transition. Bike
Comments: Kept it steady and maintained. What would you do differently?: Find some hills and do repeats. Transition 2
Comments: No socks, Zoots, slip in,helmet off, hat on, number belt on, and go. What would you do differently?: Practice gettins feet out of shoes before dismount point. Run
Comments: Went too slow. Legs did not loosen up until 1 mile in. What would you do differently?: Actually do a few brick workouts. Post race
Warm down: Stretch, eat. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of prep time. Last updated: 2010-05-18 12:00 AM
