Before workout:
"Do you wanna be miserable for 30-50 minutes, or mad at yourself all day?"

During workout:
"Move, you f***ing lazy*ss, stop being such a p*ssy"

Either:
"Do you wanna gain all that weight back, or what?!"

I was suprised that I didn't see "Just do it." Yeah I know it was an ad campaign but it was so...awesome. It strips away everything else going through my mind. I do shorten it to "Just run" or "just pedal" etc. as well. it really keeps me going.

That reminds me of something my 2 year old told me the other day. He likes me to run with him in the jogging stroller and often asks to "run" with me. He asked me to take him running at 9pm and I told him it was too late I was already in my pajamas. He said, "That's ok. Just put on your shoes and go". So maybe that's my new mantra.

There's no such thing as pain

I came up with that one in the delerium of my first marathon back in 1994 (last 6 k).  It's gotten me through the birth of two children and 5 more marathons.
